苏霍姆林斯基说：在人的心灵深处，都有一种根深蒂固的需要，这就是希望自己是一个发现者、探索者，在儿童的精神世界里，这种需要则特别强烈。根据儿童的这一心理特点，《全日制义务教育数学课程标准（实验稿）》（以下简称《新课标》）中指出：“有效的数学学习活动不能单纯地依赖模仿与记忆，动手实践、自主探索与合作交流是学生学习数学的重要方式。”为什么《新课标》将自主、探究、合作的学习方式放在如此重要的地位来考虑呢？在以往的数学教学中，我们对教师“怎样教”研究得很多，取得了许多成果，然而对学生应该“怎样学”却是一种可怕的漠视，漠视学生学习方法的研究就是漠视学生这一学习活动中的主体的存在。
因为任何好的教学方法都必须通过学生的学习活动加以内化。因此在教学中注意让学生充分地动作操作，积极地自主探索和大胆地合作交流，既是实施《新课标》的要求，也是改革数学课堂教学的需要。因此，怎样改革旧有的学习方式，让学生利用动手实践、自主探索与合作交流的学习方式进行学习，在学习过程中让学生主动地经历观察、实验、猜测、验证、推理、交流等数学活动，是我在课改实验过程中重点探究的问题。下面结合自己的教学实践，如何培养学生自主探究与合作学习的能力:
第一是教师应更好地钻研教材，精心设计适合小组合作的内容，选择最佳的合作时机，对于简单的内容或学生自己能解决的问题，一定要让学生自己去思考、体验、完成。
第二是要了解每一个学生的认知水平、性格差异、考虑到学生的优、差，动、静搭配等原则，做到合理、科学分组。在组内达到一个取长补短，相互借鉴的目的。学生是学习的主体，这种主体地位要在教师的引导下才能实现。因此，在学生自主学习时，教师一定要了解情况，掌握全局，及时参与和指导。解决策略：一是把目标交代明确。二是进行全班巡视，检查学生的学习进度，发现学生自主学习时的困难和疑惑，及时指导和进行二次备课，以便在交流展示时，能够有的放矢。三是教师与学生平等对话，成为课堂的组织者和参与者。四是对学生学习中带有共性的问题，学生不会的和讲不清的，教师必须要向学生重点讲解，以突出重点突破难点。
第三合作学习是建立在独立学习的基础上的，每个都必须有自己独立思考的过程。否则反应慢的学生容易被思维敏捷的学生同化，甚至被牵着鼻子走，整个合作过程就变成优生的一言堂，而其他学生就没有实质性的参与。因此教师在组织学生参与讨论或探索之前，一定要留给学生一定的独立学习思考的时机，再给予充分的时间组织小组讨论。
第四教师也要积极的以合作者的身份参与到学生的小组合作学习中，对学生的合作学习的进度、合作交流情况有一个大致的了解，对有困难的小组随时加以引导和点拨，对学生学习进行有效的调控和促进。注重在合作前、合作中、合作后学习、合作、交流方法的指导。让学生学会探索，学会发现，不断引发学生思维碰撞，把学生的探索引向深处。 合作、探究学习谈几点方法与策略。
