BG即是“boy and girl”的简称，起源于并多用于动漫领域。表意即为“异性恋”，通常人们也习惯称之为“正常向”，“男女向”。
BL即Boys’ Love 的缩写，翻译成中文是男孩子间的爱，也称为少年爱。与GAY圈不同，这个群体大多是纯爱，没有相对的复杂性。一般比较纯情。
gl全称girls' love，专指女性之间的同性恋情，常出现在文学作品，动漫作品，漫画作品等
