2、从色泽上进行鉴别，如果将真假烟盒对比，假烟盒再逼真，与真烟盒相比还是有颜色上的差异。真烟条盒表面有光泽，涂色均匀，印刷清晰、烫金光亮，比较鲜艳；假烟一般烫金暗淡，涂色不均，表面光泽差及印刷字体模糊等。
3、从燃烧性鉴别，真烟燃烧性好，点燃后静燃，真品烟不熄火；而假烟一方面由于烟丝中所含的氯和钾的比例不协调，影响卷烟的燃烧性；另一方面，由于假烟中的梗丝没有膨化，内有梗签与梗块，经常有熄火现象。
一、透明纸
★1、质地：一般采用聚丙烯薄膜BOPP，主要是用来延缓烟支受潮及其水分和有机加得齐的散失。
真品烟：透明纸透明度高，表面光泽好，手感光滑，声音清脆，并有机器擦痕；
假冒烟：一般透明纸质地差，透明度与光滑度不够，用手推比较滞手，包装松、软。
★2、搭口及两端封口
真品烟：采用机器电烙铁热封，不用胶水，呈现规则的工艺特征。
假冒烟：两端封口工艺不一致，一般用手工电烫，或用胶水粘封，有明显的手工痕迹。
★3、透明纸搭口方向
条盒、小盒两端透明纸搭口方向一致。
二、拉线
★1、拉线印刷
真品烟：着色牢固，字体笔划清晰完整，字体间距大小均匀；
假冒烟：有时着色不牢，字体笔划残缺，字体间距大小均匀。
★2、拉线头
真品烟：拉线头有机器小切口，拉线头规则对称、宽度相符（如FK机为11mm半圆形，在条盒侧面靠边；GDX—2为10mm半圆形，在条盒背面；康巴斯拉线头与透明纸封口平齐，在条盒侧面居中；B1机拉线头椭圆形，在透明纸封口处）
假冒烟：一般拉线头机器小切口，有时出现拉线头开头不规则，宽度不符等。
三、商标
卷烟的商标鉴别要根据卷烟自身的商标印刷特征，从图案烫金、光泽和颜色及纸质质地等方面来鉴别。
真品烟：商标表面有光泽，涂色均匀，印刷清晰、烫金光亮，比较鲜艳；商标上一般有油墨被机器磨擦的痕迹。
假冒烟：一般烫金暗淡，涂色不均，表面光泽差及印刷字体模糊等。
四、条盒粘封
条盒粘封根据包装设备的不同有一点式、二点式、三点式、四点式、全不粘（一点和四点一般出现在外烟中），若出现全部粘封的则为假冒烟。
真品烟：胶水点大小均匀、规则，粘封点间距相等。
假冒烟：粘封点大小不一致（形状不规则），粘封点间距不相等，所用胶水与真品不符并有明显手工粘封痕迹。
在未拆开条盒之前，可用手按一下，测试其粘封点情况，点间距是否相等。
五、旧盒回收使用
指透明纸、商标、铝箔内衬纸等材料为真品，通过刀割等方式将假冒烟支重新包装，目前较多出现在高档卷烟中如中华、利群、大红鹰等，其假冒方式较多出现为刀割条盒下面正面与其中一端边界处的透明纸、刀割拉线、刀割条盒其中一端面原透明纸，对于小包一般假冒方式为透明纸的上下端重新粘封。鉴别方法：观察商标有否玷污、边角处摩损是否严重，有否二次粘封、刀割等工艺上不符的痕迹，小盒翻盖背面有否折痕。
硬盒中华应重点注意拉线工艺是否相符，防止专供出口中华改换包装。
六、封签
软盒烟封签背后应有2条平行的胶水印，而且一条中10包烟的封签粘贴位置基本均匀、对齐；假冒烟用手工粘封，封签背后粘封砂规则，有时整张封签人武部粘住。
七、烟标粘封工艺
参见各类设备的包装工艺特征。
一般机器粘封，软盒烟烟标边缘有1—2mm不粘合，而手工粘封的假冒烟在边缘处有时全部粘合。
八、舌头纸
GDX2及GDX2000烟盒的舌头纸两侧有机器压痕。
九、内衬纸（铝箔纸）
铝箔纸是将金属箔层压在纸质上制成的一种特种纸，有直包、横包二种包装方式，真品烟铝箔纸表面应洁净、光亮、平整，箔点应细腻均匀，表面字体图案印刷清晰。
十、滤咀材料
滤咀材料有醋酸纤维和聚丙烯纤维滤咀二种材料，中高档卷烟均采用醋酸纤维滤咀。聚丙烯纤维滤咀一般用低档烟中。
醋酸纤维滤咀：富有弹性，滤咀饱满，具有较好圆周度。
聚丙烯纤维滤咀：切割难，切口不平滑，丝束燃烧后有臭味。
十一、打孔与透气
滤咀打孔有激光打孔和静电打孔二种。激光打孔孔蹼较大，均匀规则，孔间距相等；静电打孔点细小，且孔点上下波动较大。打孔为了透气，以达到降低焦油的效果，一般在孔点处的水松纸与成型纸之间无胶水粘合，成型纸采用高透气度（高透气度成型纸表面形状似筛网），则孔点穿透水松纸，若采用普通成型纸，则孔点一般穿透成型纸。鉴别时可根据卷烟是否有打孔，是否采用高透气度成型纸，然后拨开滤咀进行判断。
十二、钢印
烟支钢印有牌名钢印与数码钢印二种，应结合生产厂家的钢印特征进行监别。目前，有较多卷烟牌号采用牌名水松纸（即牌号钢印在水松纸上），应注意牌名在水松纸接口处的工艺制造技术。
十三、烟支卷制方向
真品烟一盒内烟支有相反2种卷制方向，且不同方向烟支数量基本接近。中高档卷烟若处于同一种卷制方向的，则一般为假冒烟。
十四、烟丝
烟丝一般由不同比例的叶丝、膨胀烟（梗）丝、烟丝薄片组成。
一、烟草薄片
烟草薄片是卷烟配方中的一种既定部分，是回收烟末和碎梗等废料的一种方法，就制造工艺来讲，主要有辊压法、造纸法、稠浆法等，目前我国主要采用辊压法薄片技术，即将烟草物质粉碎后与胶粘剂、增强剂、保泣剂、水等物质按一定比例混合均匀，形成松散的团粒状，然后通过一对或几对压辊辊压形成薄膜，经剥离后烘干，成为烟草薄片。其主要外观特征为：
1、薄片强度、耐折度不够，弹性差，容易造碎；
2、薄片与烟叶的色泽往往有差异，一般颜色偏深，偏暗。
3、由于目前多采用木浆纤维作薄片增强剂，因此吸味（烟气）不清晰，有杂气，一般用于中低档卷烟中。
二、膨胀烟（梗）丝
将要膨胀的烟（梗）丝加入某种膨胀介持后进行高温处理，然后将膨胀介质快速挥发，使烟梗丝得到膨胀。目前，主要有液态（CO）2膨胀法、氟里昂—11膨胀和高压氮气膨胀法。
经膨胀后的烟丝颜色偏淡，体积增大；放在丙酮溶剂中，膨胀烟丝浮在上面，未经膨胀的则下沉。一般掺和在中高档名优卷烟中。
真品烟烟丝基本特征：
1、中高档卷烟烟丝颜色金黄、橙黄，光泽油润性好；
2、含末率、含梗量少；烟丝结构紧凑，切丝宽度、长度均匀；
3、掺和膨胀烟丝、膨胀梗丝或烟草薄片；（一般烟草薄片用于中低档卷烟）一般假冒烟烟丝：
（1）、烟丝组成结构散乱，绿丝宽度、长度不均匀；
（2）、烟丝光泽油润性差，含末率、含梗量特别高；
（3）、烟丝经染色处理，在烟丝边角处发红；
（4）、为卷烟下脚料或未经完整工艺处理的劣质烟丝；
十六、吸味
评吸是对卷烟烟叶品质和卷烟配方的综合鉴定，是消费者评价产品在质量的重要手段。评吸应用于卷烟真假鉴别，主要通过与真品烟对比，判断被鉴别卷烟在吃味风格是否与真品相接近或一致，主要通过以下指标进行判断：
1、嗅香：是否优美、愉快，是否具有与真品烟相接近的表香。
2、卷烟的吃味风格：主要指卷烟的香气特征、烟味浓度、生理强度（劲头）。
3、香气：卷烟烟气本身所固有的烟草特具的芳香。
4、谐调：香气和谐一致，感觉不出其中某一单体的特性。如加香、加料与叶香调和；外香型卷烟的外加香稍突出，未遮盖卷烟本身固有的香气。
5、杂气：不具有卷烟本质气味、轻微的或明显的不良气息。如表草气枯焦气、土腥气、松脂气、花粉气、地主性杂气及呛人的气息等。
6、刺激性：烟气对感官所造成的，轻微的或明显的不适感受。如对鼻腔、口腔、喉部的冲刺等。
7、余味：烟气人口腔、鼻腔呼出后，遗留下来的味觉感受。
具体鉴别时，应结合卷烟的不同档次和类型进行鉴别。
