创造激情来源于兴趣和好奇心，好奇心是兴趣的先导，是激发创造性思维的动力。幼儿的好奇心重，对有趣的物体，有意思的事物，出于好奇常引发兴趣，好奇心驱使他们喜欢寻找奇异的、有刺激的事物，引起探索兴趣，激发创造的激情，促进创造思维活动。因此，教师要巧妙地抓住儿童纯洁稚拙的童心和容易被新鲜事物吸引的特点，依据兴趣和绘画技巧特点进行有计划、有成效的挖掘和培养他们的创造欲望。例如：在粘贴画《有趣的春天》时，教师用变魔术的形式出示教具，引起孩子的兴趣，以提问引导的方式激起他们的好奇心，让幼儿在故事中思索发现，这样他们在做画时就把一些饶有意味、生动感人的画面特征通过自己的想象表现在作品里，从中激发了孩子创造的欲望。

人的创造活动是从观察开始的，观察是创造活动的源泉。认真仔细的观察，可以帮助幼儿获得大量丰富的感性材料，理解不易掌握的理论知识。教师应通过各种途径为幼儿创造用感官去接触外界事物的机会，鼓励他们多听、多看、多触摸、多尝试，从而达到发展幼儿感官、开阔眼界、丰富想象的目的。如大班画“美丽的春天”时，教师先组织幼儿观察春天自然界的变化，带领幼儿去寻找春天，观看春天的自然风景、录像带或风景图片，演唱有关春天的歌曲等。通过上述活动让幼儿了解春天的特征：春天到了，小河里的冰融化了，小草露出了嫩绿的小芽，树木也穿上了绿色的新装，迎春花开放了，燕子从南方飞回来了，农民伯伯正忙着播种……。教师启发幼儿：“这么美丽的春天，我们画下来好不好?于是幼儿就纷纷投入到创作中，一幅幅风格各异“美丽的春天”便跃然纸上了。
三、 动手动脑，激发幼儿创作的灵感
美术活动中培养幼儿的创造力，离不开幼儿的手脑并用。当幼儿产生了创造意识后，就会迫不及待地通过自己的双手去验证自己的想法，在验证过程中，他们会一次次地改进自己原有的思路，通过再思考再动手，最终达到完美的结果。如：泥工活动捏茶壶时，教师出示自己事先捏好的茶壶，引导幼儿观察茶壶的结构组成，并讲解制作步骤。然后要求幼儿制作茶壶。由于幼儿年龄小，再加制作较复杂，幼儿在团出茶壶的身子时无法将壶嘴按放在壶身上，教师就启发幼儿动动脑子，怎样才能把壶嘴按在壶身上，幼儿通过讨论后找出了一个合理的方法---用牙签棒将壶身壶嘴连接，但新的问题又出现了，壶嘴角度千差万别，教师再次让孩子观察后讨论，找出制作不合理的地方，并说明原因，通过几次尝试幼儿又掌握了壶柄的连接方法，这样就制作出一个好看的茶壶，大大提高了幼儿的动手动脑能力。
在掌握了制作工艺后，教师启发幼儿进行创意设计。每个幼儿都积极思维，各式各样的茶壶便相继而生，方形的，圆形的，大的、小的、品种各异，个别幼儿还制作了勺子、锅、铲、碗等，他们把这些“餐具”放置在桌上，就地取材，还玩起了做饭游戏。这一过程，训练了幼儿的横向思维，创造精神得以体现。
四、保护幼儿个性发展，开发创造潜能
陈鹤琴先生的“活教育”原则中认为“凡是儿童自己能够做的，应该让他自己去做，凡是儿童自己能够想的，应该让他自己想。儿童自己去探索、去发现，自己所求来的知识才是真知识，他自己所发现的世界才是真世界”。在传统的绘画教学过程中，教师一般喜欢用同一的绘画工具，同一的绘画方法来要求幼儿完成任务，其结果是幼儿很想去尝试一些与众不同的绘画作品，但最终必将导致幼儿的从众性。因此，当幼儿掌握了一定的绘画方法后，教师就从“横向绘画创作”和“纵向绘画创作”这两方面着手，进一步促进幼儿的创造力的发展。如：在综合绘画活动“美丽的家”时，教师进行横向绘画指导，也就是说同一主题画或想象画，幼儿可以自行选择绘画工具和绘画手段加以创作，于是教师为幼儿提供了油画棒、彩笔、水彩棉签等多种绘画工具。允许幼儿自由选择绘画工具，并引导幼儿充分发挥自己独创的想象力，利用自己手中的工具绘出了不同风格的画图“美丽的家”。接下来，教师组织孩子又进行了较复杂的“纵向绘画创作”。通过实验证明，这种方法充分发挥了幼儿的创造力。使用这种方法绘制组合的画面色彩丰富，布局饱满，大大开发了孩子的创造潜能。充分发挥了幼儿独创的想象力。
