雪莲花（学名：Saussurea involucrata ）主要指菊科风毛菊属多肉植物，又名新疆雪莲、天山雪莲、高山雪莲。它是难得一见的奇花异草。主要指菊科风毛菊属多肉植物，新疆、西藏地区人民称之为卡尔莱丽，为菊科多年生草本植物，高15-35厘米，可作药用，也有一定的观赏价值。 分布新疆（乌鲁木齐、博克达山、和硕）藏语称恰果苏巴，维吾尔语称喀尔古丽，为菊科多年生草本植物。生于山坡、山谷、石缝、水边、草甸，海拔2400-3470米。俄罗斯及中国有分布。天山雪莲属珍贵的药用花卉植物，含有挥发油、生物碱、黄酮类、酚类、糖类、鞣质等活性成分，具有除寒痰，壮阳补血，暖宫散瘀，治月经不调等功效。另外，天山雪莲对治疗肾虚腰痛，祛风湿，通经活血等症有明显效果。雪莲全草入药，在7月-8月初开花时采集，药效最好。采集后要放烈日下晒，以防挥发油的丧失和有效成份的破坏。

天山雪莲，又名“雪荷花”，当地维吾尔语称其为“塔格依力斯”。属菊科凤毛菊，属多年生草本植物。新疆特有的珍奇名贵中草药；生长于天山山脉海拔4000米左右的悬崖陡壁之上、冰渍岩缝之中；那里气候奇寒、终年积雪不化，一般植物根本无法生存，而雪莲却能在零下几十度的严寒中和空气稀薄的缺氧环境中傲霜斗雪、顽强生长。这种独有的生存习性和独特的生长环境使其天然而稀有，并造就了它独特的药理作用和神奇 的药用价值，人们奉雪莲为“百草之王”、“药中极品”。
