  Deryck Jayson Whibley (born March 21, 1980), also known as Bizzy D, is a musician and producer better known for his work as the lead vocalist and songwriter of Canadian pop punk Juno Award winning band Sum 41. He also plays the guitar, drums and keyboard/piano. As a producer he was one of the founders and directors of Bunk Rock Productions. Whibley was born in Scarborough, Ontario. He is married to pop singer Avril Lavigne.

  Early life

  Deryck is the son of divorced parents, who rather than spending time with his father, lived with his mother Michelle moving from place to place. His final home landed in Ajax Ontario Canada, where he stayed ever since as a young kid/teenager. Deryck's first'band' was a trio hip-hop/rapping group,'Powerful Young Hustlers' covering songs in the hip-hop genre. And at 16, After having created Sum 41, he met Treble Charger's frontman Greg Nori at a local place in Ontario.

  Professional career

  Besides Sum 41, Whibley has developed a professional career in the music industry as producer and manager. Deryck was part of punk Rock Music, a music management and production company. In Bunk Rock he had co-produced some of the Greig Nori's band albums, Treble Charger. In Treble Charger he has also done backing vocals for the album Detox, in the company, he used to produce for No Warning. Since parting ways with Greig, he sold his part of the company, in early 2005.

  During the Sum 41 hiatus in 2005 and 2006,he worked with Tommy Lee on guitar and backing vocals for his album Tommyland: The Ride and A Million in Prizes: The Anthology, from Iggy Pop.

  Currently he is working as the producer of the first EP album from the side project of bandmate Cone McCaslin, called Operation M.D. and the producer of the next Sum 41 album. For 2007, he is mixing the first album of a new band called Permanent Me. He is also involved with the next album of Avril Lavigne, where he is producing, playing guitar, backing vocals and writing some of the more rock/punk-rock oriented songs. [1]

  Besides his musical career he has worked on occasion as an actor. He portrayed the character Tony on the movie Dirty Love and himself as guest character in King Of The Hill.

  Personal life

  He was previously in a relationship with Paris Hilton for 6 months;and broke up around November/December 2003. Shortly afterwards, in Janurary of 2004, he began dating fellow Canadian pop/rocker Avril Lavigne. On the last part of her European Tour for the Bonez Tour shows, she and Whibley took a trip to one of their most visited and favorite places:Italy on June 23-25,2005. Specfically Venice, where Deryck proposed. They were seen on Gondola rides, and having a picnic. The couple finally married in a traditional ceremony on July 15, 2006 at a private estate in the California coastal city of Montecito, located 87 miles northwest of Los Angeles. Lavigne wore a Vera Wang gown, carried pearl white Australian roses and was walked down the aisle by her father. Whibley wore a Hugo Boss suit and was accompanied by four groomsmen, Steve Jocz (his best man, and Sum 41's drummer), Jason "Cone" McCaslin (Sum 41's bassist), Avril's older brother Matt Lavigne, and Sum 41's close friend Robb Dipple. There were about 110 guests in attendance. Their first dance as a married couple was to the Goo Goo Dolls song Iris. Other than recording/mixing new material for the new Sum 41 record, he produced a few song's for Avril Lavigne's new record, The Best Damn Thing.
