(1)加强学习目的教育，发挥目标激励作用。使学生认识学习的社会意义和个人意义。了解国家和社会对学生的期望和要求，逐步树立为祖国而学习的责任感，将祖国和社会的要求转化为个人的要求，形成长远的学习动机。
(2)引起心理上的不确定性，激发学生的求知欲。教师要善于利用学生熟悉和生疏、新知与旧知、现在与将来、自己与别人及学生地位变化的不确定，来激发动机。
(3)通过获得成功的机会和体验，激发学生的学习动机。
(4)培养和激发学生的学习兴趣。
(5)利用学习反馈和学习评定。为使评价对学习动机发挥有效的激励作用，应当注意以下几点：要教育学生对评定抱正确态度，评定应该客观、公正、及时，赞许的肯定评价对学生更有激励作用，评定的方式要灵活多样，评定要有指导性和激励作用，评定要符合学生心理发展水平和个性特点。
(6)利用学习竞赛和奖惩激发学习动机。但应当注意的是，激励学生学习，不可过分依赖竞赛活动。
