so that 的意思是“结果是……”
so...that 的意思是“太……样，以至于不能……”
- 在so…that…句型中，so后面加形容词或副词，其意为“如此……以至于……”

so that引导目的状语从句，其从句中的谓语动词通常和can, may,

so that句型也可以用来引导结果状语从句，意为“因此，结果”，这时其从句中的谓语动词不与情态动词连用。这种结构和so…that…引导的结果在含义上有很大的区别。
1 so that
引导目的状语从句时,表示“以便；为了”,从句中常使用can /could /may /might /will /would /should等情态动词或助动词；引导结果状语从句时,从句中一般不用can和may等词,在so that前可以用逗号,意思是“因此;所以”.如：The little boy saved every coin so that he could buy his mother a present on Mother's day.
2 so ...that ..
so＋形容词或副词＋that ...引导结果状语从句.意思是“如此……以致于……”.如：When the football fans saw Beckham,they got so excited that they cried out.
so...that...句型中so是副词，用来修饰形容词或副词，意思是“如此/这么...以致于”，比如：
The boy ran so fast that I couldn't catch him.这男孩跑得这么快，以致于我抓不住他。
It was so fine a day yesterday that we all went out for a piic.昨天天气是如此的好，（以致于）我们都出去野餐了。
so that是用来引导目的状语从句或者结果状语从句的，意思是“以便于，以致于”，比如：
I speak loudly so that all the students can hear me clearly.（我大声说话以便于所有的学生能清楚地听到。－－目的状语从句）
She likes the dress so that she decides to buy one.(她喜欢这件裙子以致于她决定买一件。－－结果状语从句）

这个片语还可以和in order that ,in order to ,so as to 进行替换．
如：I got up very early this morning so that I could catch the early train
=I got up very early this morning in order that I could catch the early train.= I got up very early this morning in order to catch the early train.

我今天早晨起来得很早以便能够赶上早班火车．
I finished my homework quickly so that I could go to bed earlier.

2．so....that 引导结果状语从句．意思是：如此．．．以致, 这个片语可以和too..to 进行替换。
This problem is so difficult that I can''t work it out.
这道题如此地难以致我做不出来．
=This problem is too difficult for me to work out.
He is so young that he can''t go to school.
=He is too young to go to school.
他年纪这么小不能上学．
He is so short that he can''t go to school.
他个子这么矮以致于他够不著这些苹果．

in order to+动词原形和so as to+动词原形 都可以放在句中。 She got up early in order to / so as to catch the first bus. 她早早起了床以便赶上头班车 。 The doctors gave her a general checkup so as to/ in order to find out the cause of her illness. 医生给她做了全身检查， 以便找出她的病因。 in order to 可以放在句首，而so as to 则不可。 In order to win the watch , they practiced hard. 为了赢得比赛，他们刻苦训练。 In order to get good results, we ought to do our best to study the lessons. 为了获得好成绩， 我们应尽最大努力学好课程。 2.so that 和 in order that 意思相同 “目的是 以便”引导目的状语从句

结果状语从句常由so…that 或 such…that引导。so…that与such…that之间可以转换。例如：
