字的偏旁有时往往包含着字的意思，所以，我们可以借助部首来分辨形近字。如：《我是什么》一课中，“袍、雹”两字的教学，先一步一步地指导学生读准这两个字，接着让学生来说说两个字分别是什么偏旁，再利用“衣字旁和雨字头”来识记区分这两个字，学生通过关注偏旁懂得了字的意思，所以以后再见面或者运用时，就不会再出现错误了，所以效果非常的好。
其次，我们可以根据偏旁进行归类识字，比如“反犬旁”的一般是指动物、“衣字旁”的一般是跟衣服有关等。老师在教学时进行了有意的归类，相信学生在课外阅读或者自主阅读时，就能根据偏旁来猜字的意思。这样在激发学生识字兴趣的同时，还教给了识字的方法。
学习方法的获得对学生来说才是最重要的。
二、常用的加一加、减一减、换一换。
对字的部件进行加一加、减一减、换一换，目的是指导学生利用学过的旧字来学习新字，降低识字的难度。如“公”+“木”=“松”，用加一加的办法使学生一下子记住了“公、松”两个生字。这是比较常用的方法，但是也需要老师去细心研读教材才不会遗漏。
三、利用字形来进行识字教学。
如“鼠”字利用图片结合象形文字的演变来指导学生记忆，并让学生来找找老鼠的头、尾巴、身子、爪子，使学生对鼠字印象深刻。“蒸”这个字的教学，把四点底形象地比作了熊熊大火，这一比喻不仅让学生记住了这个字，同时，还从“熊熊大火”让学生感受到了小鱼的困境，可谓是一举两得。
四、不断地“复现”——识字的有效手段
低段的新教材坚持“认写分开”，“多认少写”的原则。因此低段的孩子要写得字不多，任务不重，难的还是大量的识字。一、二年级的孩子自觉性比较差，所以自主识字的时间比较少，一切还是靠老师比较多，那该如何让孩子记住这些字呢？就是利用一切机会让生字不断地与孩子们见面，出现地次数多了学生自然而然就记住了。
