我(常常)微笑,(可是)我在生气。
(表达了一种“微笑”的习惯)

如果加be动词
I’m smiling, I’m angry.
意思就变成了:
(此刻)我正在微笑,(可是)我(也)正在生气。
(表达了一种行为或状态,正在“微笑”,但在生气的时候同时“微笑”,不一定是一种习惯)

be 的用法主要三种:
1. 表示是,比如我是李明I am Li Ming .
2. 看不到动词的句子要加be,因为英语的句子不能没有动词,比如他很高He is tall ,不能说He tall.
3. 构成进行时,被动语态。

smile是实义动词可以单独作谓语,angry是形容词,需要来个be才能做谓语。
我是按照句子基本结构来分析的:主谓/主谓宾/宾主系表

我自己的理解就是谓语这部分,不是动词+时态就是系表结构。
I smile 是主谓
I'm angry 是主系表

因为动词分为四大类:
实意动词
连系动词。
情态动词
助动词。
只有实义动词可以单独做谓语,
而系动词必须和形容词一起作谓语。
第一个题是实意动词,
而第二个是是一个形容词,
所以它必须和系动词一起。

smile是动词,angry是形容词
