英雄联盟
简称LoL是由Riot Game开发及发行的一款Windows游戏，以网路游戏免费模式及虚拟物品收费营运。该游戏受到魔兽争霸III：寒冰霸权的自订地图DOTA的启发。DotA Allstars的主要设计者Steve "Guinsoo" Feak和DOTA网站的管理者Steve "Pendragon" Mescon参与了该游戏的开发。英雄联盟开发团队同时也包含了许多游戏产业中开发人才如Tom 「Zileas」 Cadwell（设计总监）和Shawn 「Badagahnoosh」 Carnes（创意设计主管）。游戏处於营运阶段并不停定时推出新英雄角色、更新游戏元素和调节平衡，截至2012年8月11日一共有100名英雄供玩家选择。
数位玩家扮演召唤师召唤英雄，并被各自分到两组队伍。两组队伍从地图相反方向的水晶主堡内开始，「破坏敌方的水晶主堡」或「使敌方投降」以取得胜利。要破坏水晶主堡，队伍必须破坏一系列防御塔，而塔通常被放置在可以抵达敌方水晶主堡的主路线上，每条主路线上的建筑物在最靠近敌方的一个被破坏前会处於无敌状态。
水晶主堡会周期性地派出并攻击小队前往敌方主堡。每个玩家透过杀死敌方攻击小兵、敌方英雄和树丛中的中立怪物（部分附带增益效果）来升级自己的英雄等级。击杀敌人可以使自己的英雄在游戏中取得金币，以便购买物品来增进自己的能力。每个英雄都从等级1开始，最高到18等，提升等级时可以学习四种不同的指令技能。
