My lifestyle
Now let me tell you something about my lifestyle . I often eat fruit and vegetables. Apples and brocoli are my favorites. I love junk food, too, but Ieat it 3 or 4 times a week. I slessp less than seven hours every day.
Since the National Energy-saving and Pollutant-reducing Campagin was launched, a variety of public and education activities has been carried out across the coutry. People all over the coutry are taking part in the campaign,which is beneficial to the sustainable development of the enconmy and society.
People are called on to wash clothes by hand at least once a month and to reduce the waste of grain.Moverover,it will be good if car owners don't drive their cars but walk or use public transporation one day each month.As middle school students,we can recycle resources by giving used books to lower-grade students.Also, we should switch off the lights when wo leave our classrooms and turn off the water tap after we use it.
A low carbon lifestyle does not mean that we have to lower our quality of life or even our aspirations.
It does mean that our community, as well as ourselves as individuals, needs to look at things differently. If we are going to use a lot of electricity, we need to think how that energy is going to be produced.

Developing and adopting a low carbon lifestyle is not difficult, but it does take a little effort to stop doing those things that create carbon emissions for no reason.
Of recent times we have seen an increase in patio heaters - some outlets (?) are already banning these carbon emitters. Would it not be better to use chimineas where we burn wood (biomass), peat blocks or wood pellets that are carbon neutral and will not add to the emissions we already have?
Our emissions of about 12 tonnes per person per year across the UK* are brought about by either Direct emissions or Indirect Emissions.
They can be simply categorised as follows:-
Direct: Home heating, lighting, cooking, washing, electrical appliances, the car(s), Public and air travel.
Indirect: These areas are difficult for the individual to see because they are approximately 6 tonnes per person per year, but are hidden as energy provided to our homes and businesses, buying local food, increasing the time lapse between buying cars, buy energy efficient goods for the home, air travel, etc.
This makes our purchases very important if we are going to achieve our targets of 2 tonnes per person per year**. Working as a community we can also help in the reduction of these indirect emissions and we should strive to deliver these savings on behalf of everyone, even those that are vulnerable, elderly or are not able to choose more expensive low carbon products.
