2、分析。所谓的“挑战”大多是从分析开始进行，是鉴赏美术的关键步骤。这里的分析不同于以往的形、色、构图等方面的直接分析，而采用改变作品原貌，如可以将画面分解，改变原有位置，分析原作品构图的合理性，或者改变大小、色彩等方面的因素进行比较分析。通过对作品的分析过程的体验，运用谈话、提问、讨论等方法得出结论，并结合教师在多媒体的教学，学生对作品会产生更浓厚的兴趣，效果会更好,课堂会更生动有趣。
3、解释。教师要给学生充分的时间和空间，要让学生所认为的分析阶段中对原有作品的改变好或不好的地方，都要充分的阐述理由，要多鼓励学生发表不同的意见。通过分析阶段的比较，学生会加深对各种概念的理解，同时逐步掌握分析的方法，而解释阶段通过阐述理由与辨说，既可以巩固相关的知识，又可加深对作品的理解。
4、评价。“有一千个读者，就有一千个哈姆雷特。”对同一审美对象，不同的学生，不同的心境，不同的经历、学识和情感个性，就会有不同的审美意味和不同的理解。教师要把握好自己的角色，注意引导和鼓励，不要为学生代劳。评价这种“挑战”不仅培养学生鉴赏能力，还要让他们敢于说真话，勇于探索，不怕挫折，富于创造性，增强他们的自信心及解决问题能力。美术课堂的教学设计要给学生充分的自由，让他们去发现属于自己的真理与智慧，真理与智慧永远是蕴藏于知识的背后，教师要带领学生去发现、去挖掘探索，才是最理想的活动，教师要在教学中勇于实践，总结更有效、更实有的教学方法，使美术教学之路愈来愈宽畅。
