In the recent years, I came across a newspaper, and so read in it a story which affects me a
great deal. It was about a boy who cycled 100 kilometres to attend an examination for college entrance examination.
That boy, called Cheng,was from Shandong Province. His family was very poor and his parents were toohard support their son's desire to study. However, the boy did not surrender. He decided to cycle all the way of 100 kilometres from his town to the University that because he want to saving money on transportation. Carrying nothing but some bread and bottles of mineral water prepared at home. When he arrive the city, he did not have enough money to live in the first night. So,he just slept on the street. To the next day, he was success to entry the exam.
The story really left a great influence on me. I had not ever thought there would be such a hard working student. There are many examples of poor girls and boys who have been
struggling to study, but what impressed me most in this story is Cheng's
determination. For me, travelling such a long way without a motor vehicle must
be impossible. Now I realize that I should learn to be more independent.
In conclusion, that boy tells me one thing which will affect me: there are situations in life that are hard to undergo, but nothing is impossible as long as we try to.
