English has” stolen” lots of word from languages all over the world, for example: cafe and genre from French, siesta from Spanish, Kung fu from Chinese and so on.
English is such an influential language is because the British Empire had been conquering the world in the past few centuries. America, Canada, Australia, South Africa were all parts of the Great Britain. This is why their native language is English.
Since lots of important countries’ native language is English, People from all over the world would also study English because it would be beneficial if you learnt one of the most important languages in the world.
