smile to/at 的用法，在语法中都有提到。
不同的是：
1、smile做动词时，smile at和smile to都可以来用，at表示一笑置之、对/冲某人微笑；to表示对…（可抽象，可具体）…微笑，一般这两个用法在表示具体事物时可以混用，但如果表示抽象事物，就只能用to，比如面对生活，面对困境，面对未来 等等。
2、smile做名词时，一般是用have或give或grudge等动词+smile to而不用smile at
例如：
（1）、I grudged a smile to her at that time.（smile做名词）
那个时候，我勉强对她挤出了一点微笑。
（2）、When there's a fine day, people will smile to/at themselves and feel good.（smile做动词，加具体事物）
当天气晴朗时，人们会心情愉悦并且感觉美好。
（3）、When faced with setbacks, we must smile to life and keep on going.(smile做动词，加抽象事物)
当面对挫折时，我们必须微笑着应对并且继续生活。

smile to 表示向某人微笑示意，指示动作刚刚发生；smile at 表示以微笑的目光注视某人，是一种状态
