背著箱子卖了两个多星期的冰棒，我渐渐有了些心得，决定扩大阵地，到邻村卖。
那日，我从冰棒厂批发冰棒出来以後，太阳烈得不行，谁知快到中午的时候，下了一阵雨。天气变凉快了，谁还需要买冰棒解暑解渴呢？然而为了不折本，哪怕少亏点，我依然走著，叫卖著。走著走著，我来到了一个瓦窑边。
“冰棒，卖冰棒啊！白糖冰棒一分钱一根，绿豆冰棒两分钱一根。”我丧气地叫喊著，明显感觉到自己几乎要哭了。这折价也折得太低了，都亏本卖了。
“小孩，过来！”我听到了黑脸大人在叫我，我赶快跑了过去。他们问我叫什麼名字，这么小怎么卖起了冰棒。我一一作了回答。问过後，黑脸大人说把我的冰棒全包了。我听了很高兴，把冰棒一根一根给他们。看著他们津津有味吃著冰棒，我强哽下口水，背对著他们。说实话，卖了一个多月的冰棒，我却连冰棒味都没有尝过。
“家双，转过来，吃根冰棒！”黑脸大人说。
我转过身，但是没有接他递的冰棒，只说：“我不吃冰棒！”
“我们知道你舍不得吃。我们请客。你把这根冰棒吃了！要不然，我们就不给你钱。”络腮胡子大人说。不得已，我接过那根冰棒，也津津有味地吃了起来。
吃完，他们把冰棒钱递给了我——是四角钱。他们不是按降价给的，而是原价。我感动得不知道说什麼好。
暑假结束了，卖冰棒也结束了，我一共赚了四元五角钱，足够交学费了。
开学那天，我带著钱高高兴兴地到学校去报名。在交学费时，老师告诉我，我的学杂费全免了。原来，我家的情况及我卖冰棒的故事，已经传到了老师的耳朵裏。
