\u3000\u30004\u3001\u6731\u71b9\u201c\u5b58\u5929\u7406\u3001\u706d\u4eba\u6b32\u201d\u5728\u7406\u8bba\u4e0a\u7684\u7f3a\u9677\uff0c\u662f\u628a\u5929\u7406\u4e0e\u4eba\u6b32\u5bf9\u7acb\u8d77\u6765\u3002\u6240\u8c13\u201c\u5929\u7406\u5b58\u5219\u4eba\u6b32\u4ea1\uff0c\u4eba\u6b32\u80dc\u5219\u5929\u7406\u706d\u201d\uff0c\u4e5f\u592a\u7edd\u5bf9\u5316\u4e86\u3002
“五四”新文化运动之后，“存天理，灭人欲”一直被看成朱熹的代表思想。这种思想至今还被后世完全否定，甚至一提到朱熹首先就想到：“存天理，灭人欲”——伪道学。我认为，主流之所以形成这样的偏见完全这与我们对传统文化不了解、全面否定有关。最起码这种“戴帽”似的定性观点，已经贯穿在小学历史课本之中，每一个中国人从小就要接受这种对传统文化的否定。
《朱子语类》卷四：“圣人千言万语只是教人存天理，灭人欲”，“学者须是革尽人欲，复尽天理，方始为学。”只有片言，从这片言中可以得出：朱熹“存天理，灭人欲”的说法。但这是不是朱熹的创见呢？显然不是，在朱熹之前有程颐提出的：“天理人欲不容并立”。由此看来，程子才是此学说的“老祖宗”了？其实不然。在程颐之前还有周敦颐，这位濂溪先生在谈论音乐时曾说：“乐者古以平心，今以助欲；古以宣化，今以长怨。”（《周子通书》），由周敦颐这段简短的乐论，我们再往上看五经中的《礼记、乐论》：“人生而静，天之性也。感于物而动，性之欲也。物至知知，然后好恶形焉。好恶无节于内，知诱于外。不能反躬天理灭矣。夫物之感人无穷，而人之好恶无节，则是物至而人化物也。人化物也者，灭天理而穷人欲者也。”
可见，最先直接提到“存天理，灭人欲”的是《礼记、乐记》，这篇文章作者佚名，估计是战国以前的作品了。《乐记》说“灭天理，穷人欲”之害是“人化为物”。故此，反过来说则是：“存天理，灭人欲”了。可见，《乐记》才是“存天理，灭人欲”的老祖宗。然而，世人却把这个当成朱熹的代表思想，一言蔽之“封建禁欲主义”、“压抑人性”不亦谬哉？这种学说根本不是朱熹的创见，怎么能用此一言代表朱熹呢？在“存天理，灭人欲”儒学的两大分支“心学”与“理学”意见一致，陆九渊与朱熹有过争执，反对“裂天理人欲为二”的提法，但对此他也说：“总不成说纵人欲”。王阳明则在“存天理，灭人欲”之上，说了个“致良知”。除“存”与“灭”两个绝对性的字之外，还有孟子的“寡欲”说：“养心莫善於寡欲。其为人也寡欲，虽有不存焉者，寡矣；其为人也多欲，虽有存焉者，寡矣。”老子的“无欲”说：“不尚贤， 使民不争。不贵难得之货，使民不为盗。不见可欲，使民心不乱。是以圣人之治，虚其心，实其腹，弱其志，强其骨；常使民无知、无欲，使夫智者不敢为也。为无为，则无不治。”
现在必须要纠正对“存天理，灭人欲”的全面否定，肯定其合理性。
其一：“存天理，灭人欲”首先是对政治的改良。
从大处分社会分“官”与“民”、“贫”与“富”。我不赞成“阶级斗争说”，说他们之间就必然对立，不可调和。从理欲之辩来说，政府应该首重理性，克制本身的欲望。一个享受型的政府，必然要有享受型的官吏，要享受就要加征税赋，收刮民财，必然要实施暴政。“朱门酒肉臭，路有冻死骨”，政府官吏门不节制贪欲，下层百姓必然衣不暖，食不饱。又从何多欲？“存天理，灭人欲”这句话是向谁说的？首先就是向富贵者说的。穷人欲少，已无欲可灭；富人欲多，吃一餐山珍海味，十万二十万，能养活多少贫苦人？“存天理，灭人欲”首先该灭富人之欲。可是，富贵者又怎么肯约制自我？朱熹当年的那一套理学，上所厌闻，被定为“伪学”。他的学术不是官府承认，而是被民间承认，这说明老百姓并不反对“存天理，灭人欲”，反对的全是那些富贵者。今天，“存天理，灭人欲”也是遇到一些上层主流学者的反对，不能不说这与南宋那个政治与学术环境差不多，反对派不是官办学者就是富贵者。反对“存天理，灭人欲”，就是与“艰苦奋斗”建国理论也相违背，^o^能得天下，不就是得了人心么？其中不是有一条，国民党的将军在吃大鱼大肉，^o^的将军在吃糠巴，老百姓看着心里舒服么？而为什么^o^要使用与相悖的反“存天理，灭人欲”的理论呢？难道真不成“灭天理，纵人欲”？可见现在是清算这种错误思想的时候了。
其二：“存天理，灭人欲”并不是简单的禁欲学说，而是有深刻的哲学渊源。
从《礼记、乐记》关于“天理”、“人欲”的一段论述来看，“天理”是人的天命禀赋，“人欲”是“天理”之动。动而不能复静，故“人化物也者，灭天理而穷人欲者。”欲望会妨碍理性思辩，只有去了“人欲”属于人的独特理性才能得以澄清。二程认为，人性既是“天理”在人身上的折射，故此是至善的。人性中的善自然也是其“天理”的本质特征，恶则则是人不合节度的欲望、情感，称之为“人欲”或“私欲”。“人欲”是“天理”的对立不相容，“天理”盛则“人欲”灭，“人欲”盛则“天理”衰。这是个与人性本善相关的哲学命题，绝不是简单的禁欲学说。儒家的“灭欲”与道家、释家同为心身修养学说。而“存天理，灭人欲”禁锢了人的自由等等之类的说法，理性之下只会有“人性自由”绝没有“禁锢自由”之说，感到自己被“禁锢”了，则是“人性”未通，不具“仁、礼、义、智、信”未达自由。
