“both and”和“both of”的用法和区别是什么

both and和both of都有"两个都"的意思，作主语时谓语动词都用复数，但它们的用法有点不同。
1、both ...and... 连接两个并列成分。
如：
1). He can speak both English and Chinese .
他会说英语和汉语。
2). Both Jim and Kate are students .
吉姆和凯特两个都是学生。
2、both of +名词或代词复数。
如：
1). Both of the twins are my good friends .
这两个双胞胎都是我的好朋友。
2). Jim and Kate are from England . Both of them are interested in Chinese .
吉姆和凯特来自英国。他们俩都对汉语感兴趣。
