《数学课程标准》（实验稿）明确指出：“义务教育阶段的数学课程应突出体现基础性、普及性和发展性，使数学教育面向全体学生，实现：
——人人学有价值的数学；
——人人都能获得必需的数学；
——不同的人在数学上得到不同的发展。
这是数学新课程标准对数学教育提出的要求。从心理学角度看，学生存在着个性差异。面向全体学生就不能无视这种差异，而应因人定标、因材施教。在“让每个学生都能得到最优发展”教育观下，我们必须认清应试教育下存在的问题，不是填鸭式教学，不是被动式学习，而是学生主动去动手、探索、实践、获得知识过程。初中数学知识固有的特点：初一知识点多、初二难点多、初三考点多。而农村初中学生由于受到各方面的影响，比如学校的教育、家庭的环境等影响，普遍表现出学习习惯较差，并且学习基础参差不齐，本文就如何培养农村初中学生数学学习习惯和如何打好基础，谈一谈个人几年来在农村中学数学教学一线的做法和体会。希望能引导学生主动参与教学环境过程，激发学生的学习积极性，培养学生掌握和运用知识的能力，使每个学生都能得到充分发展。
一、养成良好的数学学习习惯：
叶圣陶先生说：“什么是教育，就是要养成习惯。”我国古代就有对习惯的研究。《新三字径》中的第一句话讲到“人之初，性本善，性与情，俱可塑。”意思是说，要培养良好的习惯，近代，我国教育家陈鹤琴先生则说：“习惯养得好，终身受其益，习惯养不好，终身受其累。”
1、要养成良好的数学课堂学习习惯。农村中学学生水平不一、纪律差，课堂应组织学生专心地参与到教学环境过程，不分神、不做小动作、不做一切与课堂无关事情，专心听讲，专心思考，随着课堂教学步骤走。听课是学生获得知识的主要渠道，因此，学会听课对初中生学习尤为重要。在听课方法上要特别处理好“听”、“思”、“记”的关系。
“听”是直接用“耳朵”接受知识，应指导学生在听课的过程中注意：（1）听清每节课的要求；（2）听明白知识引入及其形成过程；（3）听懂每节课的重点、难点以及老师对重、难点的剖析，尤其是预习中的难点要在听课中弄明白；（4）听懂例题解法的思路和数学思想方法的体现；（5）听课后要做好小结。当然，教师在上课时，要注意方法防止“注入式”、“满堂灌”，掌握讲授新知识的最佳时间，使学生听后有效，达到听课的根本目的。
“思”是指学生的思维活动。学生没有思维就发挥不了学生的主体作用，学生的主动性、积极性就没有发动起来，在思维方法上，应使学生注意：（1）多思、勤思、随听随思，学习过程中多问几个“为什么”？（2）深思，即追根溯源，大胆提出问题，“打破沙锅问到底”；（3）善思，由听和观察去联想、猜想，归纳；（4）树立批判意识、学会反思。可以说“听”是“思”的关键，“思”是“听”的深化，是学习方法的核心和本质内容，会“思”才会“学”。
“记”是指学生做课堂笔记。初中生一般不会合理地做课堂笔记，通常是老师写什么，学生就抄什么，把“抄”代替了“记”，用“记”代替“听”和“思”，有的同学笔记虽全，但收效甚微。因此：（1）记笔记要服从听课，要掌握记录时机，（2）记要点、疑点、记解题方法和思路。（3）记小结课后思考题。使学生明“记”是为了“听”和“思”服务的。
掌握好这三者的关系，就能使学生在课堂学习的这一主要环节达到较好的境界。
2、要养成良好的数学作业习惯。有的学生作业字迹潦草、做题马虎、错误率高；有的学生作业不规范、格式不按要求；有的学生对作业不及时的订正，没有反思的习惯。“良好的作业习惯”是指有利于学生发展的作业习惯。因此要求学生在数学作业方面能养成良好的习惯：
①养成规范作业的习惯：做到专心、细致、字迹清楚，做错能及时、认真订正。作业不拖拉，及时交作业但不单纯为赶作业。
②养成学生自主、合作、探究的习惯：能让学生学会自选作业、自编作业，在综合性和研究性作业中又能合理分工，团结协作。
③养成学生对作业反思的习惯：通过对作业的反思，能够及时对知识进行归纳、总结，查漏补缺。
3、要养成良好的数学课前预习、课后复习习惯。初中生往往不善于预习，也不知道预习起什么作用，预习仅仅是流于形式，草草看一遍看不出问
