——记章庄学校小学教师刘梅香
在风光旖旎的武功山下，在地处赣中南的安福县，有一位普普通通的山区小学女教师，满怀着对党的教育事业的无限忠诚，用青春和智慧书写着平凡的人生，她——就是安福县章庄学校小学高级教师刘梅香。

1977年7月，生长在大山里的刘梅香高中毕业了，由于家境贫寒，她不得不放弃了上大学的机会。在父老乡亲的挽留下，刘梅香毅然决定留在大山里，成为山区小学的一名民办教师。殊不知这一留就是32年，为了山区教育事业，她无怨无悔地贡献了自己美好的青春。
成为民办教师伊始，刘梅香就被分配在离家较远的会口小学，担任一、三年级复式班的语文课，每天要上5到6节课。她没有任何教学经验，猛然间要教复式班，的确有困难。但她不是一个怕困难的人，虚心向老教师学习，很快就胜任了教师工作。
作为山村教师，不仅要面对教学设备的匮乏，还要学会与寂寞为伍。会口小学座落在深山沟里，每到夜里，只有她一人住在学校里。刘梅香以超常的胆量和毅力，忍受着孤独与寂寞，凭借一盏油灯，夜夜与课本、作业本为伴。她常常想：“如果我不认真教书，山里娃娃们的将来，就会像他们的祖祖辈辈一样，永远走不出大山，永远过着贫穷的生活。”
为了父老乡亲的孩子将来有个好前程，刘梅香肯吃苦，也能吃苦。1981年，组织上把她调到更为偏僻的柴屋里小学，学校只有她一名教师，从星期一至星期六，她几乎整天都在讲台上，却从来不说苦，也不说累。
尽管工作如此辛苦，但作为民办教师的收入却极其微薄，一年到头也就是五百来块钱。父母及亲朋好友都怜惜刘梅香，多次劝她：“人家一星期的收入就抵得上你教书一年，再说，干来干去只是个民办教师，还是另谋出路为好。”
刘梅香不傻，当然知道搞副业比教书来钱快，说实话，面对这一切她也曾动过心。但她心里还有另外一笔账——若是大家都奔钱去，这些娃娃们怎么办？将来山上的木材砍光了，孩子们又没学到科学知识，致富不还是一句空话？刘梅香说：“几次想辞去民办教师的职位，又打消了念头。每当我在课堂上看到孩子们一双双求知若渴的眼神，我就下不了狠心离开学校。”
刘梅香的确下不了这个决心，作为读书人，她明白知识的重要性。自己虽然只是一名普通民办教师，但师资奇缺的山村小学需要她，这些孩子们需要她，将来山区彻底摆脱贫困的希望就在这些娃娃身上。就这样，刘梅香抵御了所有诱惑，做一名优秀的人民教师的信念在她内心深深地扎下了根。
1993年，刘梅香被调到大山深处的西坑小学任教。这是章庄乡最为偏远的一所小学，距离乡中心小学四十多里。由于偏僻的缘故，西坑小学的教师一般是今年来，明年走，学生成绩也一直处于全乡的下游。面对这种状况，刘梅香毫不退却，一到西坑小学，就主动向校长请求担任成绩和纪律均最差的三年级班的班主任。第一天走进三年级，教室里的乱劲儿着实让刘梅香吃了一惊：课桌横七竖八，学生们有的在打闹，有的在玩牌，见到新老师也不站起来问好。真是一群特殊的学生呵！刘梅香心里暗暗叫苦。但她并没有退缩，并暗下决心一定要走进这些孩子的心灵，用自己的爱去唤醒他们的求知欲和奋发向上的精神。于是，她把所有的时间都放在了这群孩子身上，一有空闲就找他们谈心，或到学生家去做家访，然后针对每个学生的特点，制定出切实可行的教育方法。当时，班上有个名叫小邱的学生，个子高大，胆量也大，喜欢与任课教师唱对台戏，学习态度一直不太端正，成绩自然也不理想，刘梅香用了许多办法教育他都没有效果，无可奈何之下，干脆不想管了。但刘梅香事后静心想想，不行！这孩子还小啊，如果放任自流，后果将不堪设想。于是她再一次悉心研究对策，寻求解开小邱心结的方法。刘老师锲而不舍的关爱终于感动了小邱，他道出了之所以丧失学习信心是由于以前的老师对他有偏见。刘梅香真诚的爱心在她与小邱之间架起了一座桥梁，在她的帮助下，小邱的学习成绩不断有进步，不仅以较好的成绩考上了初中，高中毕业后还参了军，考入了一所军事院校。
1999年9月，刘梅香被任命为西坑小学校长。
刘梅香深深知道：除了责任和义务，山村小学的校长没有任何级别和待遇。但她下定决心，只要身为人民教师，就有责任把学校工作做好，把学生教好，向老百姓交一份合格的答卷。
给人民满意的答卷，是刘梅香的铿锵誓言。要实现这个目标，光有爱心和热忱不够，还要有过硬的教学本领。多年来，刘梅香无论到哪个学校，无论这些学校的条件有多差，工作有多累，她都不忘钻研教材和教学方法。山村学校大多是复式班，学生基础较差，接受能力也参差不齐。刘梅香根据这些特点，在教学中不断总结经验，调整和创新教学方法，并采用土法上马，制作了许多“土教具”，千方百计地提高学生的学习兴趣和学习效率。孩子们买不起计算器，她便利用长方体木条、铁丝和算盘珠子，制作了一个简易方便的“计算器”。每当刘梅香用这个“计算器”教学生算数时，孩子们都兴趣盎然，接受能力明显增强。“土教具”的制作说起来容易，做起来却要耗费大量的时间和精力，再加上长期的山村教学，过度的压力和劳累，使刘梅香患上了严重的神经衰弱症。
由于教学任务繁重，刘梅香的精力几乎全花在学生身上，很少顾及家庭，家里的15亩地，以及两个孩子的生活起居，全凭丈夫一双手照料。甚至自己年老体弱的父母生病在床，重病住院，她也不能送汤送药尽孝。为此，丈夫一直对她有所埋怨。每每谈及家庭，刘梅香的眉宇间便有隐隐伤痛，她说自己确实亏欠了家庭许多许多……
对儿女，刘梅香也许不是个好母亲，但她对学生真挚的关爱，使她不仅成为学生的良师益友，更成了学生心目中的伟大母亲。在32年的教学生涯中，她不仅在学习上关心每一位学生，在生活上也予以细心呵护。学生思想上出现问题，她耐心疏导、教育；考试不理想，她及时分析原因，“对症下药”；学生家里有困难，交不起学费，她主动替他们垫付学费；学生没饭吃，她就把他叫到自己房里一起吃……在刘老师的身上，我们深刻体会到一名善良的中国知识女性，正通过三尺讲台传递无私母爱的崇高品德。
32年来，这样感人的故事太多，多得连刘梅香都记不清楚了。每当事业有成的学生回来问候她时，她就愈加体会到人民教师的神圣和伟大，这份由衷的自豪感，成为她扎根山区、献身教育的强大精神支柱。
32年来，刘梅香没有向组织上提过任何个人要求，但党和政府对她的奉献予以充分的肯定，曾多次被评为县、乡优秀教师、优秀班主任。1998年至2002年，她连续五年被评为优秀共产党员。2005年，她走上了安福县基层优秀共产党先进事迹报告会的演讲台。2006年，荣获吉安市农村中小学“十佳教师”光荣称号。《江西教育》、《妇女之声报》等媒体对她的事迹做了相关的报道。
