虎妞是腐蚀祥子精神思想的一个重要因素。她代表了腐朽社会中种种束缚人的制度，就像一种慢性的腐蚀剂，不知不觉地控制及改变着人的行动与思想。她与父亲合谋剥削车夫的工钱，她任性、懒惰，追求享受。她并不真的爱祥子，只是拿他做泄欲的工具，欺骗他就范。她使他失去自由和淳朴的感情。而作者却否定是虎妞毁了祥子的一切，他加入了战争及恃强凌弱的恶势等因素，这些则好像是祥子身边的定时炸弹，时不时的毁他一下。既然祥子周围的社会对他有如此的压抑，他能不崩溃吗？在「软硬兼施」之下，祥子就范了，人民低头了，不得已地放下理想，甘愿庸碌地过一生。小福子的死，可算是「最后一击」，它表示祥子唯一的希望都破灭了。在社会里，人们往往连最小最简单的期望都不敢有，于是生活变得毫无意义，这便是他们的悲剧----作者不断强调「祥子和其它车夫一样」，说明了这是个具有社会性的悲剧----祥子只是一个典型竖例子而已。
我并没有资格评论《骆驼祥子》的艺术造诣，只是十分欣赏老舍先生这种写实主义的作品。它感情真瀹，意义深刻，写出了人民心中的呼唤。我相信这种具有社会及艺术意义的作品，一定可以经得起时间的考验，流传百世。
