One day the farmhouse with Dorothy inside is caught up in a tornado and deposited in a field in the country of the Munchkins. The falling house kills the Wicked Witch of the East.
\u3000\u3000The Good Witch of the North comes with the Munchkins to greet Dorothy, and gives her a pair of silver shoes that the Wicked Witch of the East had been wearing when she was killed. In order to return to Kansas, the Good Witch of the North tells Dorothy that she will have to go to the "Emerald City" and ask the Wizard of Oz to help her.
\u3000\u3000On her way down the road paved with yellow brick to the Emerald City, Dorothy frees the Scarecrow from the pole he is hanging on, restores the movements of the rusted Tin Woodman with an oilcan, and encourages the Cowardly Lion to journey with her and Toto to the Emerald City. The Winkies love the Tin Woodman and they ask him to become their ruler, which he agrees to do after helping Dorothy return to Kansas.

The Cowardly Lion kills a giant spider, who is terrorizing the animals in a forest, and he agrees to return there to rule them after Dorothy returns to Kansas--the biggest of the tigers ruling in his stead as before. Dorothy uses her third wish to fly over the Hammer-Heads' mountain.

当我翻开了《格列佛游记》时我立刻就被眼前的目录所吸引了：小人国历险、大人国历险、会飞的国家……这些字眼似乎被作者施加了魔力，我一看到这些就想快点往下看，想快点了解怎么会有小人国和大人国，国家又怎么会飞。带着这些疑问我认真地读起了第一章。
这本书讲的是格列佛以海上医生的身份随同一艘船出海航行，后遭遇风暴孤身一人涉险了一些神奇的国家，最后终于回到了自己的国家的事情。情节曲折、玄妙，又不乏幽默。把格列佛的历险写的栩栩如生，有趣极了。与其说是“格列佛游记”倒不如说成是“我与格列佛的游记”呢，因为我在阅读这本书时几乎入迷了，好像就是我和他一起历险一样。但是我又从心里佩服他的机智勇敢，他总是给我一中“逆境丛生”的感觉，这点就是他历尽艰险后从新踏上自己的国土的主要原因，所以我坚决要向他学习这种精神，否则的话，若我以后遇到这种事情的话说不定早已经一命呜呼了呢

这个暑假，我读了一本书，名叫《格列佛游记》。这本书的作者是英国十八世纪前期最优秀的讽刺专家和政治家——江夸生· 斯威夫特。
这一天晚上，我看完了这本书的最后一页，似乎意犹未尽。

儒勒•凡尔纳生于法国西部海港南特，他在构成市区一部分的劳阿尔河上的菲伊德岛生活学习到中学毕业。父亲是位颇为成功的律师，一心希望子承父业。但是凡尔纳自幼热爱海洋，向往远航探险。11岁时，他曾志愿上船当见习生，远航印度，结果被家人发现接回了家。为此凡尔纳挨了一顿狠揍，并躺在床上流着泪保证：“以后保证只躺在床上在幻想中旅行。”也许正是由于这一童年的经历，客观上促使凡尔纳一生驰骋于幻想之中，创作出如此众多的著名科幻作品。

小说从海面上“怪兽”出没，频频袭去各国海轮，搅得人心惶惶开始，到鹦鹉螺号被大西洋旋涡吞噬为止，整部小说悬念迭出，环环相扣。这本书把我深深地吸引住了。在旅行过程中我和尼摩船长以及游客们都可以说是随着事情发展，而有所变化，有时惶恐不安，有时轻松愉快。这本书的精妙之处还在于完全自然的知识启迪，虽然书中讲述了不少有关海洋的知识，例如红海一名是源于海中的一种名叫三棱藻的微小生物分泌的黏液造成海水颜色像血一样红。但是没有任何一个在读者接受起来十分刻意或困难的，只是一次旅行中的所见所闻罢了，这使人们对因景而生的各种想法和收获都得以牢固的保存。
并不是每一本科幻小说都像《海底两万里》一样富有强烈的可读性，它作为一本不是凭空捏造而是远见加博学累积成的小说，不但为对海底知识了解不详尽的读者解读了他们的旅程，更让后人看到了古人的智慧与文明。整部小说动用大量篇幅，不厌其烦地介绍诸如海流、鱼类、贝类、珊瑚、海底植物、海藻、海洋生物循环系统、珍珠生产等科学知识，成为名副其实的科学启蒙小说 再次读完这本书,心中还是存在这个愿望,就是希望随尼摩船长一起探尽海底所有的秘密,可恨没有阿龙纳斯教授的好运.
故事起与1866年一件闹的满城风雨的怪事,许多船只在海上发现了海怪,法国生物学家阿龙纳斯教授受邀追逐怪兽,谁知落入水中,与同伴一起周游四海,最后不堪海底的沉闷,想方设法,重回陆地.
写到这里,竟然情不自禁地想到了《哈利波特》,而此书的价值远远胜过前者(就我个人而言),毕竟在1870年能写出这样奇幻小说并流传至今是极为珍贵的.135年千千万万读者还有时光流逝的考验并没有使它的锐气磨减,反而更肯定了它的价值,而我觉得它在文学史上之所以屹立是因为它从头至尾贯穿的两个字"幻想".幻想自古以来便是推动社会发展的力量源泉.而至今天,事实证明作者儒勒·凡尔纳的一切幻想或是推理都是有现实作为基础的,例如:海底森林,穿越海底隧道(阿拉伯海底地道,苏伊士下面一条通往地中海的地道),一块沉没的陆地(大西洋洲).在未来世界,一切幻想皆成为了现实.在《海》中,尼摩船长说了一句话:"人类进步的实在是太慢了."幻想其实是进步的翅膀.100多年前的人的幻想在100多年后成为现实,探索是无止境的呀!
《海》赞美了那深蓝的国度,史诗般壮丽的海洋,一个无忧无虑,与世无争的地方,那里有数不清的珊瑚,海藻,游鱼,矿产,正是一幅瑰丽的锦图,我无法用语言来赞美或形容它. 诺第斯号不管在那个年代都是一部不朽的神话.是它揭示了海洋中无限神秘的一切,对于船长尼摩来说,更是精神的家园.
终于说到尼摩船长了,这个谜一样的人物一样为此书增色不少,他可以为法国偿还几百亿国债,看到朋友死去会无声地落泪,会把上百万黄金送给穷苦的人,会收容所有厌恶陆地的人,会把满口袋的珍珠送给可怜的采珠人,会逃避人类,施行可怕的报复,他对人类有根深蒂固的不信任感,这个弃绝人世天才,我一向都是由衷喜欢这种人,对于尼摩船长无尽的痛苦,我总想探个究竟,我不明白,这样的人有着怎样的经历和出身,但我相信他是一个善良的人.
《海底两万里》委实是一本经典名著,而在现代,却很少见到这样的经典名著,那些浮华的东西倒是很多,真是可惜得很!

马克·吐温曾经说过：“十九世纪有两奇人，一个是拿破伦，一个就是海伦·凯勒。”最近我读了一本关于海伦的书——《假如给我三天光明》，读完这本书之后我的心被海伦的精神深深的震撼了！
在书中，海伦说：“知识给人以爱，给人以光明，给人以智慧，应该说知识就是幸福，因为有了知识，就是摸到了有史以来人类活动的脉搏，否则就不懂人类生命的音乐！”。的确，知识的力量是无穷的，正是知识使海伦创造了这些人间奇迹！
海伦是不幸的，但她又是幸运的，正是因为有了知识，她才如此幸运。在她19个月失去视觉和听觉后，就与这个世界失去了沟通，失去了联系，这个的幼小生命不知道如何排谴与世隔绝的孤独感，她古怪、粗暴、无礼，直至她的莎莉文老师走进了她的生活，教会她认字，才使她张开了心灵的眼睛，得以与人沟通。一接触到了知识，孤独的海伦意识到只有知识才能铺就一条通向光明之路。当海伦感悟到“水”——这个她所认识的第一个字后，便开始了对知识、对世界强烈的渴求，开始了迫不及待地认字、阅读，像一块海绵不断地从生命本身汲取知识。对知识的渴求，使她在常人难以想象的单调和枯燥中竟然学会了德语、拉丁语、法语等多国语言，阅读了多部文学和哲学名著，吸取着那些伟人和智者的思想精髓。她把学习比做攀登奇山险峰，跌倒了再爬上去，每得到一点进步，就有一份鼓舞，逐渐看到更为广阔的世界，直到璀璨的云端、蓝天的深处、希望的顶峰！这些知识，像一道道彩虹，点亮了海伦心中的灯，照亮了她的内心世界，也架起了海伦和这个世界沟通的桥梁！
知识的力量多么巨大，它能使一个残疾人，变成一个有益于人类、有益于社会的人。假如，我们每一个人，都能像海伦．凯勒一样，在有生之年把对知识的渴求，看作对人生的追求，每天都抱着这种追求，怀着友善、朝气、渴望去生活，我们的人生将会增添多少欢乐、多少幸福啊！
海伦的一生，是生活在黑暗中却给人类带来光明的一生，她用行动证明了人类战胜生命的勇气，给世人留下了一曲永难遗忘的生命之歌！
