陶瓷产品中最富民间色彩的莫过于明、清两代各地民窑都普遍生产的青花瓷器。青花瓷起源于唐、宋，这一时期的青花瓷纹饰简单，技术还不成熟，现存实物也极少。从元代起，以江西景德镇为中心的地区，青花瓷烧制技术已渐至成熟，烧制出来的青花瓷器器形高大，胎色洁白，色泽鲜艳，图饰层次繁多，布局丰满。
