而今，随着改革开放的进一步深化和社会主义经济大潮的涌起，金钱仿佛一夜之间更加溢彩流光，炙手可热。钱不再肮脏，不再龌龊。不再邪恶，不再丑陋。金钱成了人们追寻的焦点。在许多人眼里，斗富，摆阔，纵欲被称为“潇洒人生”“款，腕，亨，星”被当着崇拜的偶像；金钱成为事业成败的标志，衡量自身价值的天平，这实在是不足可取的。
古希腊哲学家德谟克利特说：“猪在污泥中找乐，驴子找到草料吃是最幸福的”不同的人有不同的人生观，对幸福内在实质的理解各不相同，但把幸福机械简单地建筑在金钱的根基之上，错误地认为拥有了金钱就获得了幸福，这是很片面的，也是不可取的。
诚然，幸福需要物质保证，但更重要的是要有精神支柱；我觉得，精神支柱是人整个生命的“心脏”倘若没有它来支撑，再多的金钱也只不过是一堆纸罢了。金钱并不是幸福的源泉，幸福也不会是金钱的产物。只有以崇高的精神和勤劳的双手为基础，才能建造起人生真正的幸福大厦。
所以说：金钱并不等于幸福。
