蜡烛是一种非常普通的物品，相信大家都见过蜡烛吧！它非常便宜，满世界到处都是。看到这，你一定会感到奇怪吧，蜡烛这么普通，我为什么要大费周章的介绍它呢？的确，蜡烛很普通，但是它那种默默为他人付出的精神却深深吸引了我。它点亮了自己，照亮了他人，不求一丝回报。想到这儿，我情不自禁地想起了祖国花朵的培育者、祖国栋梁的支柱、为我们默默付出的老师。每天，老师早早地回到学校，教我们做人的道理，传授我们丰富的知识。大家都说老师是园丁，是茫茫人海中的指明灯。可我却要说老师是一支蜡烛。“一日为师，终生为父。”老师用辛勤和汗水培育我们这些祖国的花朵，使我们成为祖国的贡献者，对自己从来没有一点儿私心，不求一点儿回报。如果生活中没有了老师，就如停电时没有蜡烛，人生会陷入一片黑暗。这时，我想起了上学期背的一句古诗：春蚕到死丝方尽，蜡炬成灰泪始干。这句话用在老师身上再适合不过了。老师直到白发苍苍，也还在坚持上课，就如蜡烛一样，为照亮别人牺牲自己。
蜡烛，它是那么平凡，又是那么伟大。以后，我也要像蜡烛一样，为社会默默付出，无私奉献！
有一样物品，它既不像美丽的鲜花以它那动人的姿态获得人们的赞赏，也不像笔筒那样站在桌面上让人们时时刻刻感觉到它的存在。它只是被人们随便地扔在抽屉里、盒子里。这样东西就是蜡烛。
如果你仔细观察，就会发现蜡烛还挺漂亮的：白色的蜡烛像一根洁白的玉石柱子，红色的蜡烛像美丽动人的红玛瑙，还有五颜六色的生日蜡烛，留给了我们美好幸福的回忆。当你点燃它时，滴滴蜡珠顺流而下，像一串串泪珠流过面庞。难怪古人说：“春蚕到死丝方尽，蜡炬成灰泪始干。”这是用烛泪和蚕丝来歌颂人们矢志不渝的精神。人们赞美它，因为蜡烛虽小，但能照亮漆黑的夜，给人们带来光明。蜡烛的用处的确不平凡啊！
人们现在用上了电灯，几乎把“蜡烛”这个名字忘了。可是一旦在夜晚停了电，人们就会想起它，翻箱倒柜地找出它，点亮它。默默无闻的蜡烛毫无怨言地燃烧起自己，照亮着别人。在烛光下读书学习的人们，还可以感受到一丝温暖呢！
在我们的生活中也有许许多多具有“蜡烛”精神的人，他们就是我们的老师！来师们把自己的青春无私地给了我们、给了教育事业，直到白发悄悄爬上了他们的双鬓。他们是那么任劳任怨，那么平凡，又是多么伟大啊！还有医生们，他们真是白衣天使，不惧病魔的困扰，不怕任何传染病的侵袭，宁愿付出自己的一切，甚至生命！他们是我的榜样，他们太伟大了！
