作为从事小学数学教学的老师，我们可能都有一个相同的“困惑”，就是在应用题方面，学生的理解能力较差，如何较好地培养小学生的应用题解题能力，是我们从事小学数学教师共同追求的“目标”，在小学数学应用题教学中，如何更好地激活学生思维，这一直是我从事数学教学探索的问题，并力求更好地解决它。
解答应用题是一项较复杂的思维活动。小学应用题的教学任务就是要在引导学生正确解答各类应用题的同时，培养学生的思维能力。而良好思维品质的培养，则是思维训练获得高效率的有力保证。面对学生对应用题的“苦恼”，自己一直在探索这方面的教学方法，现就自己的体会谈谈在小学数学应用题教学中，如何更好地激活学生思维。
一、联系生活实际，激发兴趣。
把生活中常用的各种知识，编成适合学生学习的应用题，进行讲解或练习。这样的应用题，来源于学生身边，充满着生活情趣，学生用自己学过的知识来解决，进一步激发了学生解答应用题的兴趣。
例如：学习了小数加减法，就可以要求学生自己编一些生活中有关小数加减法的例子，把编的有代表性的例子板书在黑板上，让大家共享。例如：一桶方便面3.5元，一包饼干2.45元。一共花了多少元？学生列式解答为2.45+3.5=5.5（元）计算出现问题，可能是由于学生只考虑凑成整十数或者只看到末尾的数字就加一块儿，而忽略了这两个“5”是不是相同数位上的数字，如果列竖式的话，就不会出现这样的问题了，所以，初学小数加减法时，要强调列竖式计算，等到熟练后可以口算。运动会刚结束，可以利用运动会的项目编一些小数加减法，让学生体会到小数计算的价值所在，提高学习的兴趣。例如：跳远比赛、跳高比赛、400米比赛、接力赛等项目中，小数的计算无处不在，让学生在计算中找差距，找到差距可以清晰地分析原因，根据差距的大小制定努力的方向和目标，让学生体验到小数加减法的重要性。为了让学生看到期中考试中本班与其他班的差距，我把每个班的均分都以表格的形式出示，让学生计算本班均分与其他班均分之间的差距，在计算中看到本班在7个班中均分处于哪个位置，然后分析原因，知道今后努力的方向，树立集体主义荣誉感。
通过学生自编自解和老师的引导，让学生充分感知到小数在生活中的应用十分广泛，进一步提高对小数这部分内容的深刻认识，更重要的是使学生意识到学习小数加减法的重要性，学习是为了更好地解决生活中遇到的问题，激发学习数学的兴趣，能做到学以致用，这才是学习数学的关键所在。
二、读题时联想情境，把枯燥的数学知识与解决实际问题相结合。
教师帮助学生养成边读题，边联想的习惯。我经常这样说：假如你就是题中所说的某人，你就是其中的一员，你遇到这样的问题该如何解决？努力将题目中的文字叙述外化成鲜明的图像。首先要想象出题目中所说是一种怎样的生活情景。这种情景应清晰到如置身于其中一样能“看见”、“摸着”；把数学与生活紧密联系在一起，让学生处处感知到数学知识来源于生活，体现数学的价值所在，提高学习数学的兴趣。
例如：我在讲解加法结合律时，首先出示例题：王叔叔骑自行车旅行，第一天骑了88千米，第二天骑了104千米，第三天骑了96千米。问王叔叔这三天一共骑了多少千米？学生在读题、理解题意后，让学生列出不同的算式，我有选择的板书。算式一：88+104+96；算式二：104+96+88；算式三：88+（104+96）。我要求学生观察算式一和算式三有什么相同和不同的地方，学生总结出来这么几条：一、三个加数的排列位置始终不变，（说明没有交换加数的位置，就没有应用加法交换律）二、虽然列出的算式不同，但是最后的和不变，三、运算顺序不同，（这时我顺势利导，告诉学生，你喜欢用哪一种计算方法，学生会异口同声的回答第三种，接着追问：为什么呢？学生会从计算中得出结论，因为第三种的计算顺序先算104+96，凑成200，这样可以使计算变得简便一些。）这时我把算式一和算式三写成等式的形式（88+104）+96=88+（104+96）。接着出示书上的两组等式：（69+172）+28○69+（172+28），155+（145+207）○（155+145）+207。要求学生算出每组算式的和，把圆圈中填上“>”“<”或者“=”,让学生在计算中体会两种运算顺序，并且感知到其中的一种运算顺序带来的简便性，把相加的两个数凑成整百数就会使计算简便。接着我要求学生仿照上面的三个例子自己编一个等式，学生出现了加数交换位置情况，这时我让学生观察前面的三组等式中的三个加数位置没有变，接着按要求再编符合要求的等式。最后，观察这四组等式的左边算式和右边算式有什么不同，你喜欢用哪边的方法计算？最后把知识系统小结一下，等式左边和右边的算式中三个加数的位置没变，和不变，就是运算顺序变了。我引导学生抓住关键点：三个位置不变的加数只有两种运算顺序
