◎唐皋，年轻时读书灯下，有女子将他书房的纸窗掏破，偷窥调戏他，唐把纸窗补好，并写上两句话‘掏破纸窗容易补，损人阴骘最难修。’唐如此修德戒se。后来，考中状元，大魁天下。
　　◎明朝江阴人张畏岩，梦见进入一间高房，取阅一本考试录取名册，名册中有很多空白缺行，问旁边的人，答说：‘这是今年的科第录取名册，凡是经上天考核三年，积有阴德而没有犯过失的人，才能列入名册中。册内的空白缺行，是原本列入可以考中的人，最近犯了新的损德罪行，因而名字被上天削去。’旁人指著后面一行空缺，告诉张说：‘你平生从来都没有犯任何邪yin 的罪业，或许可补这行的空缺，必须珍重自爱。’果然，张畏岩在该年的朝廷科考中，考取第一百零五名。
　　◎明朝宁波人孙某，贫穷度日，曾寄身在塘西张氏家族的教馆当抄写，张家一名婢女，深夜来奔，被孙某拒绝。结果该婢女又找塾馆的教师，两人犯下了yin 过。到了端午节，教师疽疮发作，无法痊愈。孙某便代任教师。后来孙某在江口遇到他叔叔，他叔叔说：‘夜来见城隍爷命令鬼吏，将饿死名册更改十余人，其中鬼吏说：孙某应在四十六岁时，在外乡饿死。但因今年曾拒绝某婢yin 奔，所以延寿二纪（廿四年），除去他的饿死籍，改列入福禄籍。’后来，孙某到了四十六岁时，果然闹饥荒，米价昂贵，很多人都饿死，而孙某却家中裕足，到了年老，更加富有，活到七十岁无病而终。由此可见，拒yin 可以延寿增福，读者如欲求寿，实应自勉德行，拒绝邪yin 。
　　◎陶文僖公，年轻时仪容俊美，十七岁时考乡试，借住民宅，隔邻又女奔陶，接连三次，都被陶拒绝，并因此借住别家，该家主人在前一夜，梦见神说：‘明天有位姓陶的秀才士，会来借住你家，上帝因见他立志端方，补受奔女乱了节操，故将让他考取殿前三名。第二天，陶往借宿，家主人将梦境告诉陶，陶听了，更加自勉德业和学业。后来，果真考中朝廷的榜眼（第二名），官位做到大宗伯。
　　◎时邦美的父亲，是郑州牙将，原本六十岁都没半个儿子，因此太太叫他买妾，时某便卖了一妾，见该女发绑白布。问女，女答说：‘父亲过世，扶棺到本地，盘缠用尽，不得已才卖身来办理父亲的丧事。’时某听了，觉得可怜，就将买来的这个女子还给她母亲，而且又出钱帮她母女返乡及生活的经费。时某料理完后，回家向太太说明经过，太太说：‘你救人危急，又不趁人之危难，贪得人女，阴德很大。我会再想办法让你生子。’没多久，时某的太太竟然怀孕。有天晚上，梦见一个全身紫金se人端坐在中堂，第二天清晨，便生下了时邦美，长大后，考中状元，官位做到吏部尚书。
　　◎明神宗时赵某作邑椽，有一指挥使被冤枉下狱，赵尽力为他平冤出狱，指挥使想把自己的女儿送给赵作妾，以报答赵某救他之恩。赵摇手说：‘使不得！’指挥使想勉强赵接受，赵又摇手，连说使不得，始终拒绝指挥使的请求。后来赵某的儿子赵秉忠，坐轿去参加考试，途中有拊轿的说：‘使不得的中状元。’连说好几遍，果然赵秉忠考取了戊戌年的状元。回家后告诉他父亲，赵父感慨的说：‘这是我二十年前的事情，从来都不曾告诉别人，不知是哪位神明告诉你啊。’
　　◎家住杭州城的北新关吏顾某，奉令出差江南，途中，命小船靠苏州河边，准备船上过夜，见一少 妇想投河自杀，顾某上前阻止，问她何故，该少 妇说：‘丈夫因欠粮被押入牢狱，命在旦夕，因不忍见丈夫先死，所以想投河自尽。’顾某听了，拿出身上的五十金，赠送该 妇，解救她家危难，少 妇拜谢离去。顾某出差江南回程时，船又经过该地，上岸到饮食店，端坐用食。刚好所救的少 妇家，就在对面。少 妇见到顾某，立刻告诉丈夫，邀顾某到家中，款待酒食。丈夫对 妇说：‘他对我们有救命之恩，开始家里穷，无法报答，你今夜陪他睡觉，以酬谢报恩。’因此，两夫妻挽留顾某在家中过夜。到半夜时，少 妇进入顾某的寝室，顾某断然拒绝，并且披上衣服逃回船中过夜。就在这一夜里，顾某的家乡杭州城失火，大火凶猛，烧毁几十家，其中一家竟然没有被烧，围观火灾的许多众人，都见到火在烈光中，有一披著金甲的天神，手拿红旗，围绕著这一家的房子，火逼近时，立刻被金甲神拨回，结果，左右邻的房子全被烧毁，唯独这一家完好无损，火熄灭后，大家仔细一看，受天神保护，没有被烧的房子，就是顾某家。每个人都说，顾家一定有作大阴德的善事，才会出现了令人惊讶的奇迹。——顾某救了两夫妻的命，功德极大，又拒绝了邪yin ，守住名节，阴德更深，品节仁慈崇高，感天动地，因此上天也解救了他一家火灾之难，并且众人得见，彰显善报。
　　◎明朝罗文毅公伦，去参加会试，船经苏州时，梦见宋朝范文正公（范仲淹）告诉他，来年将是状元，伦谦虚地说不敢当。范公说：罗曾于某年拒绝奔女，德行高远，感动太清，所以来此相报。后来罗参加殿试，果然考中状元。
　　◎明朝云间人莫文通，世代务农，但乐善好施。有一天，莫拿二十金，乡下买稻种，船经靠黄浦江岸时，见到两个人，绑著一个少女，准备将该女沉落江中。莫问其缘故，对方答说：‘这是我家主人的女儿，主人察觉到她和男人有私情，所以命我们把她投入江中急流。’莫某说：‘她是个还不明白道理女孩，而且事情并没有亲眼看到，说不定私情之事，并不真确。如果你们愿放过她，我送你们二十金。’这名少女因此得免大难，向莫某叩头，愿做婢女报答救命之恩。莫某说：‘我并非贪你的姿se，只是怜悯你年纪轻轻就死于暧昧，现已昏夜，你可以到有灯火的人家去投靠。’莫某当天晚上回家，梦见天神告诉他说：‘救了人命，阴德深重，上天将赐给你贤贵的子孙。’后来，莫的儿子，登上官籍，，孙子莫昊乡试第二名，曾孙莫愚考中举人，愚的儿子莫如忠考取进士，做了方伯官，接连数代，都是做官。至于被莫文通所解救的那名少女，当天晚上逃去，被一教书的文学收留，后来生了六个儿子。何三畏编著善人传，详细记载这件事情。
　　◎杭州学府的一名柳生，曾因避雨，投宿荒原废宅，见到一少 妇已先在废屋内躲雨。柳生不敢心生妄念，自己端坐在屋檐外，直到天亮离去。少 妇回家，向丈夫王某禀告，丈夫起疑心而将 妇逐出家门，。后来乡试时，柳生的文卷，原本已被废弃不予录取，但忽然又出现在考官的桌上，考官觉得奇怪，细看文章，实在写得不好，又弃于旁。到了考官准备将所有要录取的文卷呈上级堂官时，发现柳生的文章，竟然又在其中，考官心想此生必有阴德，故一并呈上第七十一名，另外，怀疑妻子的王某也同时考取，在集体晋见官师时，官师说起柳生考中的原由，并问柳生积了哪些阴德。柳生只好将避雨的事，举出答复。在座的王某听了，感叹别人的节德清高，后悔怀疑自己的妻子不贞。因此，立刻将逐出的妻子迎接回家团聚。并把自己的妹妹，嫁给柳生，以报其德。
　　◎明朝太仓周士顾佐，知道被押的卖饼江氏是冤枉的，替她向审判官申诉平冤，因此江氏家，愿以女儿给顾做妾，顾佐坚拒不受。后来顾佐调任到侍郎衙门中办事，有一天，顾到侍郎德家中等候侍郎，忽然被侍郎的夫人见到，这位侍郎夫人竟然是以前顾佐所救的卖饼女江氏。原来，卖饼江氏在出狱后，卖身给商人，商人将她视为女儿看待，并将她嫁给侍郎当副室，后来继任为正室夫人。夫日告诉顾佐，自己时常想报恩，却苦无机会，如今她做了侍郎夫人，会请侍郎报答。侍郎官将顾佐为平民平冤的善事，上疏皇帝明孝宗，孝宗赞叹嘉许，提拔顾佐任部主事官。
　　◎清朝顺治年间，徐殿元刚考取时，曾有人为了向城隍庙祷祝祈福，夜宿庙中，到半夜时，亲眼见到城隍爷生座，并告诉他说：‘你知道许氏考中殿元的原因吗？因为徐家累代都不犯邪yin ，且长久以来都有积阴德的善行。今天徐氏考中鼎甲，只是他家发达昌盛的开始，功名虽是一般人秘而难知，但因果报应却是昭昭显著的，希望你传给世间人知道，但愿罪犯邪yin 却不知yin 是万恶之首的世人要及早觉悟啊！’城隍爷说完便起驾离去。祈福的这位元人士就将此事记录下来，并且广为流传。后来果真应了城隍爷说的情形，徐殿元的子孙们也大多考取进士科第，一门昌隆显贵，世代不断。
　　◎明朝冒起宗，从小就虔诵《太上感应篇》，参加乡试时似有神助，下笔成篇，因而考取。及至产假朝廷会试返归，发愿增注《太上感应篇》，因考虑到yin 邪好se十分损害阴德，故在感应篇中‘见他se美，起心私之’这两句下，加注列举了邪yin 恶报的事证，以劝勉别人不可犯邪yin 。帮助冒起宗写注文的，还有南昌罗宪岳。有一日，罗梦见三位神仙，一个颜貌苍老，穿黄se服，两旁各有一位穿紫se衣的仙童。老仙翁取出一册文简，叫左边的仙童朗诵，所诵的正是冒起宗注解感应篇‘见他se美’两句的全部注文。诵毕后，老仙翁随即请右边的仙童念首诗：‘贪将折桂广寒宫，须信三千se是空；看破世间迷眼相，榜花一到满城红。’这首诗的大意是说，冒起宗能不受美se所迷惑，并增注劝人戒se，令世人能看破se相本是空，不应执迷。有这劝化的功德，冒可名登榜籍，受众人的祝贺。结果到了放榜，冒起宗果然高中进士，名列红榜。
　　◎狄仁杰是唐朝有名的宰相，年轻时长的丰神俊美。有一年到京城参加考试，住在客栈，客栈的主人是一个年轻寡 妇，见狄仁杰长得俊美，夜间便去挑逗。狄仁杰楞了一下，马上转为心静气和，告诉寡 妇说：‘我原本也有点心动，但立刻想起一位高僧教我戒se息yin 的方法，心就恢复理智和清醒了。那位高僧教我，当遇到美se时，只要马上观想对方生重病时，容貌枯干憔悴，眼睛深陷的样子，并且想像对方病死，尸体溃烂流脓，满布脓血蛆虫的可怕样子，内心就可以平静下来。你现在对我动了yin 心，是因见到我的美貌，你不妨依照高僧说的观想一遍。’寡 妇便依法观想，片刻后，寡 妇向狄仁戒杰下拜，流著眼泪说：‘感谢拒绝我的挑 逗，保住了我的名节，又教我这么好的方法戒yin ，我自丧夫后，虽然力求守住 妇节，但内心仍然难熄yin 欲，如今我照你教的方法观想，果然内心就清净了，从此，我可以彻底为亡夫守节了。’这位年轻寡 妇此后一身坚守 妇节，并得到了朝廷的表扬。至于狄仁杰，则因能拒美se，又保人 妇节，终于考取状元，位至宰相，安邦定国，而且销毁yin 词，大力提倡戒yin ，以道德教化百姓，成为历史上的一代名臣。
　　◎云间人谢汉云，自幼多病。因念及所有恶业中，yin se的恶业是一般人最容易犯的，所以他重新编订《不可录》，准备广为流传，劝人戒se。当书刊刚印成时，他多年的病症竟然完全消除了。而且后来子孙都很有成就。
　　◎宋朝进士王行庵与表弟沈某是邻居。沈一向好se，王公常劝表弟不可好yin ，但沉都不听。沈曾暗中指使仆 妇去引诱王公，遭王严拒，随即又选择一位美婢，令她去诱惑王公，但仍遭王拒斥。这是沉意图破坏王的戒se，以便取笑他的计谋。有一天，王与沉结伴外出，中途遇到盗匪，沉因坐得船小，得以脱免。王坐的船则被盗拦截，但霎时雷电交加，盗匪受惊，害怕得赶紧离去。王公因此安全回家，毫无损失。后来，某日沉某外出回家，正巧碰见自己的妻子与男人苟合，沉想拿器具将二人击杀，但双手忽然无法举动，竟怒目顿足，长叹一声而死。至于王公，在五十岁时生病，请道士社醮向上天祈康，道士伏地叩拜许久，向王公说：‘你本来寿命只能活五十岁，但上天见你两次拒yin ，又能诚心劝人戒yin ，特让你延寿三纪。’后来王公果然病体转健，活到八十六岁，并能亲眼看到自己的子孙富贵发达。——王公能戒yin 拒yin ，又有劝人戒se，故得上天增福添寿子贵的善报。沉某不但自己好se，还企图破坏别人的戒行，虽然计谋未成，但恶心已甚。终于遭到亲见妻子与人邪yin ，自己愤死的恶报。足见，能戒se者必得福，好邪yin 者必遭祸，读者不可不慎啊！
　　◎嘉兴有一生，参加科考，总是落榜。但为人隐恶扬善，遇见子弟亲友谈论闺房yin 事，他便严正地加以训戒，因而作了《口孽戒文》来训勉后学戒yin 及谈yin se。有一年，又去参加考试，放榜前一夜，梦见他的先父告诉他说：‘你前世时，年少就考取进士，时恃才傲物。故上帝罚你今生屡试不中。但因你作口孽戒文，文昌帝君认为你劝人戒谈yin se，阴德很大，故特奏上帝，补列你的功名，盼你更加修德，报答天神。’放榜果然考取，作官后更加谨慎言行，宽厚待人。后来作到御史大人。
　　◎宋朝末年端宗时，，元军攻台，近海有一民妻貌美，被元兵掳到军中，千夫长想将她占为己有，杀了她的舅姑和丈夫。民妻王氏誓死不从，假装说：‘必须她为夫舅等服丧满月，才能伺奉千夫长，千夫长见她个性节烈，求死不难，便答应了。但依然逼她随军而行，在元军行经清风岭时，王氏仰天叹说：‘我现在可以死得其所了。’乃咬破自己的手指，用指血在大石上写出她为夫守节的诗，写好后，马上跳崖自杀而死。到今天，年代虽相隔已久，但大石上的血迹凸起，依然清晰可见，不受风雨的剥蚀。曾有元朝杨廉夫，因不相信王氏守节自杀的事，写了一首诗加以谤辱，结果始终无法生子，有一夜梦见一 妇人说：‘你还记得所写毁谤王节 妇的诗吗？虽然你这么做，无损于节 妇的名节，但你毁谤节义，罪恶很重，上天因此罚你绝子绝孙。’杨醒后，深感后悔，将自己从前所写毁谤的诗完全改掉，并另外写了一首赞叹王节 妇的诗：‘天随地老妾随兵，天地无情妾有情。指血啮开霞峤赤，苔痕化作雪江清。愿随湘瑟声中死，不逐胡笳拍里生。三月子规啼断血，秋风无泪写哀铭。’后来杨又梦见该 妇人来道谢。不久，杨便生了一子。
　　◎宋朝包宏斋，八十八岁依然体健神旺，受封作枢密使的官。有一次朝廷官吏宴会，贾似道猜想包必有特殊的养生术，在席间问包，包说：‘我有一服丸药，但这是不传秘方。’贾似道欢喜请教，包缓缓的说：‘因为我吃了五十年独睡丸。’满座宾客听了大笑，但也都敬佩包宏斋能戒yin 五十年，因而到老依然精神强健。
　　◎明朝邝子元，有心神昏滞、精神衰弱恍惚的病症。向一老僧请求治病药方，老僧说：‘人之所以心神得病，大多起因于妄想杂念，，必须要学习念起即觉，斩断妄念，才能祛除病源。有你现今的病，乃因yin 欲过度所致。身体沉溺于yin se而耗损元气，这是外感之欲，深夜睡眠前后，思念美se，乃至于犯yin 梦中，这是内生之欲。这两种yin 欲纠缠并作，必然会耗竭元精，增重疾病，伤害性命。要想治病，必须身体戒除yin 行，内心断除yin 念，如此则能肾水不败，心神清明，久而久之，病症自然消失。’邝子元听了老僧的教示，回去后远离yin se，清静自心，扫除欲念。如此，经过一段时间持续不断，终于心病不药而愈，身心康健，实在归功于戒yin se、除妄念的良好功效啊！
　　◎杭州有一老翁，已经百岁，依然面貌光泽，晋见知府大人蒲得政，蒲大人问他养生之术，他说：‘很简单，因为早年就已断绝yin 欲，所以长寿体健。’又太苍州张翠，九十多岁还能作画，耳聪目明，有人问他，他回答说：‘只是早日对yin 欲房事淡薄节制罢了。’
