上面一段话说的是参议员George Allen口误，被网站YouTube给逮住，无法赖账。所以上文也就是说YouTube可以用来作为强化责任归属的新型工具。既然“你不说什么愚蠢的话，就不怕YouTube”，反过来看，一旦说了什么愚蠢的话，则会有人来纠你辫子，hold you accountable的。
当我们屡屡说及“官员问责”的时候，我们或许是在说accountability, 而不是responsibility. 在任何其它组织也都一样，
只有我们明确了accountability的时候，我们才会真正让人对某事认真对待。例如：

She has a lot of responsibilities, but she is smart enough to find out that her colleagues are held accountable for the mistakes that she makes. (玛丽的业绩很差。她的工作范围倒很广，可是她这人很聪明，知道她犯下的错误总有同事来替她兜着。)
因此，好的组织应该在明确工作范围的同时，也明确acccountability. 比如课程设置或许是教学秘书的Responsibility, 可是系主任，乃至学校校长都有accountability. 如果设计错误，或者不合理，那么这一干人等都难脱干系。而具体负责某事，对其承担responsibility的人，甚至可以因为资源的不足，或者其它部门的不配合，而不对最终的结果承担accountability。这有时候是职场老油子的脱身之术，有时候却也是实情。我以前的上司有句名言，这工作范围是你的，但是责任是大家的。我觉得很有道理。这并不是说哪个具体负责的人可以不对后果承担责任，而是说所有听到他话的人都必须提供必要的配合，否则的话，行政部或许要为财务部的失误承担责任。这是现代组织一个很无奈的现实，每个人都活在一张或多张网里。你的一举一动或许都会牵动其它部门。
