\u4eca\u5929\uff0c\u6211\u9ad8\u5174\u5730\u540c\u5927\u5bb6\u4e00\u8d77\uff0c\u53c2\u52a0\u8fd9\u6b21\u5c06\u6210\u4e3a\u6211\u56fd\u5386\u53f2\u4e0a\u4e3a\u4e86\u4e89\u53d6\u5171\u540c\u5bcc\u88d5\u800c\u4e3e\u884c\u7684\u6700\u4f1f\u5927\u7684\u793a\u5a01\u96c6\u4f1a\u3002
60\u5e74\u524d\uff0c\u4e00\u4f4d\u4f1f\u5927\u7684\u4e2d\u56fd\u4eba\u2014\u2014\u4eca\u5929\u4ed6\u7684\u7167\u7247\u5c31\u8d34\u5728\u5929\u5b89\u95e8\u4e0a\u2014\u2014\u5ba3\u8bfb\u4e86\u300a\u72ec\u7acb\u5ba3\u8a00\u300b\u3002\u8fd9\u9879\u91cd\u8981\u6cd5\u4ee4\u7684\u9881\u5e03\uff0c\u5bf9\u4e8e\u5343\u767e\u4e07\u707c\u70e4\u4e8e\u975e\u6b63\u4e49\u6b8b\u7130\u4e2d\u7684\u65e0\u4ea7\u9636\u7ea7\uff0c\u72b9\u5982\u5e26\u6765\u5e0c\u671b\u4e4b\u5149\u7684\u7855\u5927\u706f\u5854\uff0c\u6070\u4f3c\u7ed3\u675f\u6f2b\u6f2b\u957f\u591c\u7981\u9522\u7684\u6b22\u7545\u9ece\u660e\u3002
\u7136\u800c\uff0c60\u5e74\u540e\uff0c\u65e0\u4ea7\u9636\u7ea7\u4f9d\u7136\u6ca1\u6709\u83b7\u5f97\u81ea\u7531\u300260\u5e74\u540e\uff0c\u65e0\u4ea7\u9636\u7ea7\u60b2\u60e8\u5730\u8e52\u8dda\u4e8e\u9ad8\u623f\u4ef7\u548c\u9ad8\u7269\u4ef7\u7684\u67b7\u9501\u4e4b\u4e0b\u300260\u5e74\u540e\uff0c\u65e0\u4ea7\u9636\u7ea7\u4f9d\u7136\u751f\u6d3b\u5728\u7269\u8d28\u7e41\u8363\u7ff0\u6d77\u7684\u8d2b\u56f0\u5b64\u5c9b\u4e0a\u300260\u5e74\u540e\uff0c\u65e0\u4ea7\u9636\u7ea7\u4f9d\u7136\u5728\u4e2d\u56fd\u793e\u4f1a\u4e2d\u95f4\u5411\u9685\u800c\u6ce3\uff0c\u4f9d\u7136\u611f\u5230\u81ea\u5df1\u5728\u56fd\u571f\u5bb6\u56ed\u4e2d\u6d41\u79bb\u6f02\u6cca\u3002\u6240\u4ee5\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u4eca\u5929\u6765\u5230\u8fd9\u91cc\uff0c\u8981\u628a\u8fd9\u9a87\u4eba\u542c\u95fb\u7684\u60c5\u51b5\u516c\u8bf8\u4e8e\u4f17\u3002
\u4ece\u67d0\u79cd\u610f\u4e49\u4e0a\u8bf4\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u6765\u5230\u56fd\u5bb6\u7684\u9996\u90fd\u662f\u4e3a\u4e86\u5151\u73b0\u4e00\u5f20\u652f\u7968\u3002\u6211\u4eec\u5171\u548c\u56fd\u7684\u7f14\u9020\u8005\u5728\u62df\u5199\u5baa\u6cd5\u548c\u72ec\u7acb\u5ba3\u8a00\u7684\u8f89\u714c\u7bc7\u7ae0\u65f6\uff0c\u5c31\u7b7e\u7f72\u4e86\u4e00\u5f20\u6bcf\u4e00\u4e2a\u4e2d\u56fd\u4eba\u90fd\u80fd\u7ee7\u627f\u7684\u671f\u7968\u3002\u8fd9\u5f20\u671f\u7968\u5411\u6240\u6709\u4eba\u627f\u8bfa\u2014\u2014\u4e0d\u8bba\u7537\u5973\u8001\u5c11\u2014\u2014\u90fd\u4eab\u6709\u4e0d\u53ef\u5265\u593a\u7684\u5b9e\u73b0\u5171\u540c\u5bcc\u88d5\u7684\u6743\u529b\u3002
\u7136\u800c\uff0c\u4eca\u5929\u4e2d\u56fd\u663e\u7136\u5bf9\u5979\u7684\u7269\u4ea7\u59d0\u59d0\u62d6\u6b20\u7740\u8fd9\u5f20\u671f\u7968\u3002\u4e2d\u56fd\u6ca1\u6709\u627f\u5151\u8fd9\u7b14\u795e\u5723\u7684\u503a\u52a1\uff0c\u800c\u662f\u5f00\u59cb\u7ed9\u767e\u59d3\u4e00\u5f20\u7a7a\u5934\u652f\u7968\u2014\u2014\u4e00\u5f20\u76d6\u7740\u201c\u8d44\u91d1\u4e0d\u8db3\u201d\u7684\u5370\u6233\u88ab\u9000\u56de\u7684\u652f\u7968\u3002\u4f46\u662f\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u51b3\u4e0d\u76f8\u4fe1\u5171\u4ea7\u4e3b\u4e49\u7684\u94f6\u884c\u4f1a\u7834\u4ea7\u3002\u6211\u4eec\u51b3\u4e0d\u76f8\u4fe1\u8fd9\u4e2a\u56fd\u5bb6\u5de8\u5927\u7684\u673a\u4f1a\u5b9d\u5e93\u4f1a\u8d44\u91d1\u4e0d\u8db3\u3002
\u56e0\u6b64\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u6765\u5151\u73b0\u8fd9\u5f20\u652f\u7968\u3002\u8fd9\u5f20\u652f\u7968\u5c06\u7ed9\u6211\u4eec\u4ee5\u5b9d\u8d35\u7684\u5e73\u7b49\u548c\u6b63\u4e49\u7684\u4fdd\u969c\u3002
\u6211\u4eec\u6765\u5230\u8fd9\u5757\u5723\u5730\u8fd8\u4e3a\u4e86\u63d0\u9192\u4e2d\u56fd\uff1a\u73b0\u5728\u6b63\u662f\u4e07\u5206\u7d27\u6025\u7684\u65f6\u523b\u3002\u73b0\u5728\u4e0d\u662f\u4ece\u5bb9\u4e0d\u8feb\u60a0\u7136\u884c\u4e8b\u6216\u670d\u7528\u6e10\u8fdb\u4e3b\u4e49\u9547\u9759\u5242\u7684\u65f6\u5019\u3002\u73b0\u5728\u662f\u5b9e\u73b0\u5171\u540c\u5bcc\u88d5\u8bfa\u8a00\u7684\u65f6\u5019\u3002\u73b0\u5728\u662f\u8d70\u51fa\u5e7d\u6697\u8352\u51c9\u7684\u8d2b\u5bcc\u5dee\u8ddd\u7684\u6df1\u8c37\uff0c\u8e0f\u4e0a\u793e\u4f1a\u4e3b\u4e49\u7684\u9633\u5173\u5927\u9053\u7684\u65f6\u5019\u3002\u73b0\u5728\u662f\u4f7f\u6211\u4eec\u56fd\u5bb6\u8d70\u51fa\u5730\u4f4d\u4e0d\u5e73\u7b49\u7684\u6d41\u6c99\uff0c\u8e0f\u4e0a\u5145\u6ee1\u624b\u8db3\u4e4b\u60c5\u7684\u78d0\u77f3\u7684\u65f6\u5019\u3002\u73b0\u5728\u662f\u4f7f\u9a6c\u514b\u601d\u4e3b\u4e49\u6240\u6709\u5b69\u5b50\u771f\u6b63\u4eab\u6709\u516c\u6b63\u7684\u65f6\u5019\u3002
\u5ffd\u89c6\u8fd9\u4e00\u65f6\u523b\u7684\u7d27\u8feb\u6027\uff0c\u5bf9\u4e8e\u56fd\u5bb6\u5c06\u4f1a\u662f\u81f4\u547d\u7684\u3002\u5171\u540c\u5bcc\u88d5\u7684\u6717\u6717\u79cb\u65e5\u4e0d\u5230\u6765\uff0c\u65e0\u4ea7\u9636\u7ea7\u987a\u60c5\u5408\u7406\u54c0\u6028\u7684\u9177\u6691\u5c31\u4e0d\u4f1a\u8fc7\u53bb\u30022012\u5e74\u4e0d\u662f\u4e00\u4e2a\u7ed3\u675f\uff0c\u800c\u662f\u4e00\u4e2a\u5f00\u7aef\u3002
\u5982\u679c\u56fd\u5bb6\u4f9d\u7136\u6211\u884c\u6211\u7d20\uff0c\u90a3\u4e9b\u5e0c\u671b\u65e0\u4ea7\u9636\u7ea7\u53ea\u9700\u51fa\u51fa\u6c14\u5c31\u4f1a\u5fc3\u6ee1\u610f\u8db3\u7684\u4eba\u5c06\u5927\u5931\u6240\u671b\u3002\u5728\u65e0\u4ea7\u9636\u7ea7\u5f97\u5230\u5e73\u7b49\u6743\u4e4b\u524d\uff0c\u4e2d\u56fd\u65e2\u4e0d\u4f1a\u5b89\u5b81\uff0c\u4e5f\u4e0d\u4f1a\u5e73\u9759\u3002\u53cd\u6297\u7684\u65cb\u98ce\u5c06\u7ee7\u7eed\u9707\u64bc\u6211\u4eec\u56fd\u5bb6\u7684\u57fa\u77f3\uff0c\u76f4\u81f3\u5149\u8f89\u707f\u70c2\u7684\u6b63\u4e49\u4e4b\u65e5\u6765\u4e34\u3002
\u4f46\u662f\uff0c\u5bf9\u4e8e\u7ad9\u5728\u901a\u5411\u6b63\u4e49\u4e4b\u5bab\u8270\u9669\u95e8\u69db\u4e0a\u7684\u4eba\u4eec\uff0c\u6709\u4e00\u4e9b\u8bdd\u6211\u5fc5\u987b\u8981\u8bf4\u3002\u5728\u6211\u4eec\u4e89\u53d6\u5408\u6cd5\u5730\u4f4d\u7684\u8fc7\u7a0b\u4e2d\uff0c\u5207\u4e0d\u8981\u9519\u8bef\u884c\u4e8b\u5bfc\u81f4\u72af\u7f6a\u3002\u6211\u4eec\u5207\u4e0d\u8981\u541e\u996e\u4ec7\u6068\u8f9b\u9178\u7684\u82e6\u9152\uff0c\u6765\u89e3\u9664\u5bf9\u4e8e\u516c\u5e73\u7684\u996e\u6e34\u3002
\u6211\u4eec\u5e94\u8be5\u6c38\u8fdc\u5f97\u4f53\u5730\u3001\u7eaa\u5f8b\u4e25\u660e\u5730\u8fdb\u884c\u6597\u4e89\u3002\u6211\u4eec\u4e0d\u80fd\u5bb9\u8bb8\u6211\u4eec\u5bcc\u6709\u521b\u9020\u6027\u7684\u6297\u8bae\u6ca6\u4e3a\u66b4\u529b\u884c\u52a8\u3002\u6211\u4eec\u5e94\u8be5\u4e0d\u65ad\u5347\u534e\u5230\u7528\u7075\u9b42\u529b\u91cf\u5bf9\u4ed8\u8089\u4f53\u529b\u91cf\u7684\u5d07\u9ad8\u5883\u754c\u3002
\u5e2d\u5377\u4e2d\u56fd\u793e\u4f1a\u7684\u65b0\u7684\u5947\u8ff9\u822c\u7684\u6218\u6597\u7cbe\u795e\uff0c\u4e0d\u5e94\u5bfc\u81f4\u6211\u4eec\u5bf9\u6240\u6709\u8d44\u4ea7\u9636\u7ea7\u7684\u4e0d\u4fe1\u4efb\u2014\u2014\u56e0\u4e3a\u8bb8\u591a\u8d44\u4ea7\u9636\u7ea7\u5144\u5f1f\u5df2\u7ecf\u8ba4\u8bc6\u5230\uff1a\u4ed6\u4eec\u7684\u547d\u8fd0\u540c\u6211\u4eec\u7684\u547d\u8fd0\u7d27\u5bc6\u76f8\u8fde\uff0c\u4ed6\u4eec\u7684\u751f\u6d3b\u540c\u6211\u4eec\u7684\u751f\u6d3b\u4f11\u621a\u76f8\u5173\u3002\u4ed6\u4eec\u4eca\u5929\u6765\u5230\u8fd9\u91cc\u53c2\u52a0\u96c6\u4f1a\u5c31\u662f\u660e\u8bc1\u3002

The Drum Major Instinct

This morning I would like to use as a subject from which to preach: "The Drum Major Instinct." "The Drum Major Instinct." And our text for the morning is taken from a very familiar passage in the tenth chapter as recorded by Saint Mark. Beginning with the thirty-fifth verse of that chapter, we read these words: "And James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came unto him saying, \u2018Master, we would that thou shouldest do for us whatsoever we shall desire.\u2019 And he said unto them, \u2018What would ye that I should do for you?\u2019 And they said unto him, \u2018Grant unto us that we may sit, one on thy right hand, and the other on thy left hand, in thy glory.\u2019 But Jesus said unto them, \u2018Ye know not what ye ask: Can ye drink of the cup that I drink of? and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?\u2019 And they said unto him, \u2018We can.\u2019 And Jesus said unto them, \u2018Ye shall indeed drink of the cup that I drink of, and with the baptism that I am baptized withal shall ye be baptized: but to sit on my right hand and on my left hand is not mine to give; but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared.\u2019" And then Jesus goes on toward the end of that passage to say, "But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your servant: and whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all."

The setting is clear. James and John are making a specific request of the master. They had dreamed, as most of the Hebrews dreamed, of a coming king of Israel who would set Jerusalem free and establish his kingdom on Mount Zion, and in righteousness rule the world. And they thought of Jesus as this kind of king. And they were thinking of that day when Jesus would reign supreme as this new king of Israel. And they were saying, "Now when you establish your kingdom, let one of us sit on the right hand and the other on the left hand of your throne."

Now very quickly, we would automatically condemn James and John, and we would say they were selfish. Why would they make such a selfish request? But before we condemn them too quickly, let us look calmly and honestly at ourselves, and we will discover that we too have those same basic desires for recognition, for importance. That same desire for attention, that same desire to be first. Of course, the other disciples got mad with James and John, and you could understand why, but we must understand that we have some of the same James and John qualities. And there is deep down within all of us an instinct. It's a kind of drum major instinct\u2014a desire to be out front, a desire to lead the parade, a desire to be first. And it is something that runs the whole gamut of life.

And so before we condemn them, let us see that we all have the drum major instinct. We all want to be important, to surpass others, to achieve distinction, to lead the parade. Alfred Adler, the great psychoanalyst, contends that this is the dominant impulse. Sigmund Freud used to contend that sex was the dominant impulse, and Adler came with a new argument saying that this quest for recognition, this desire for attention, this desire for distinction is the basic impulse, the basic drive of human life, this drum major instinct.

And you know, we begin early to ask life to put us first. Our first cry as a baby was a bid for attention. And all through childhood the drum major impulse or instinct is a major obsession. Children ask life to grant them first place. They are a little bundle of ego. And they have innately the drum major impulse or the drum major instinct.

Now in adult life, we still have it, and we really never get by it. We like to do something good. And you know, we like to be praised for it. Now if you don't believe that, you just go on living life, and you will discover very soon that you like to be praised. Everybody likes it, as a matter of fact. And somehow this warm glow we feel when we are praised or when our name is in print is something of the vitamin A to our ego. Nobody is unhappy when they are praised, even if they know they don't deserve it and even if they don't believe it. The only unhappy people about praise is when that praise is going too much toward somebody else. (That\u2019s right) But everybody likes to be praised because of this real drum major instinct.

Now the presence of the drum major instinct is why so many people are "joiners." You know, there are some people who just join everything. And it's really a quest for attention and recognition and importance. And they get names that give them that impression. So you get your groups, and they become the "Grand Patron," and the little fellow who is henpecked at home needs a chance to be the "Most Worthy of the Most Worthy" of something. It is the drum major impulse and longing that runs the gamut of human life. And so we see it everywhere, this quest for recognition. And we join things, overjoin really, that we think that we will find that recognition in.

Now the presence of this instinct explains why we are so often taken by advertisers. You know, those gentlemen of massive verbal persuasion. And they have a way of saying things to you that kind of gets you into buying. In order to be a man of distinction, you must drink this whiskey. In order to make your neighbors envious, you must drive this type of car. (Make it plain) In order to be lovely to love you must wear this kind of lipstick or this kind of perfume. And you know, before you know it, you're just buying that stuff. (Yes) That's the way the advertisers do it.

I got a letter the other day, and it was a new magazine coming out. And it opened up, "Dear Dr. King: As you know, you are on many mailing lists. And you are categorized as highly intelligent, progressive, a lover of the arts and the sciences, and I know you will want to read what I have to say." Of course I did. After you said all of that and explained me so exactly, of course I wanted to read it. [laughter]

But very seriously, it goes through life; the drum major instinct is real. (Yes) And you know what else it causes to happen? It often causes us to live above our means. (Make it plain) It's nothing but the drum major instinct. Do you ever see people buy cars that they can't even begin to buy in terms of their income? (Amen) [laughter] You've seen people riding around in Cadillacs and Chryslers who don't earn enough to have a good T-Model Ford. (Make it plain) But it feeds a repressed ego.

You know, economists tell us that your automobile should not cost more than half of your annual income. So if you make an income of five thousand dollars, your car shouldn't cost more than about twenty-five hundred. That's just good economics. And if it's a family of two, and both members of the family make ten thousand dollars, they would have to make out with one car. That would be good economics, although it's often inconvenient. But so often, haven't you seen people making five thousand dollars a year and driving a car that costs six thousand? And they wonder why their ends never meet. [laughter] That's a fact.

Now the economists also say that your house shouldn't cost\u2014if you're buying a house, it shouldn't cost more than twice your income. That's based on the economy and how you would make ends meet. So, if you have an income of five thousand dollars, it's kind of difficult in this society. But say it's a family with an income of ten thousand dollars, the house shouldn't cost much more than twenty thousand. Well, I've seen folk making ten thousand dollars, living in a forty- and fifty-thousand-dollar house. And you know they just barely make it. They get a check every month somewhere, and they owe all of that out before it comes in. Never have anything to put away for rainy days.

But now the problem is, it is the drum major instinct. And you know, you see people over and over again with the drum major instinct taking them over. And they just live their lives trying to outdo the Joneses. (Amen) They got to get this coat because this particular coat is a little better and a little better-looking than Mary's coat. And I got to drive this car because it's something about this car that makes my car a little better than my neighbor's car. (Amen) I know a man who used to live in a thirty-five-thousand-dollar house. And other people started building thirty-five-thousand-dollar houses, so he built a seventy-five-thousand-dollar house. And then somebody else built a seventy-five-thousand-dollar house, and he built a hundred-thousand-dollar house. And I don't know where he's going to end up if he's going to live his life trying to keep up with the Joneses.

There comes a time that the drum major instinct can become destructive. (Make it plain) And that's where I want to move now. I want to move to the point of saying that if this instinct is not harnessed, it becomes a very dangerous, pernicious instinct. For instance, if it isn\u2019t harnessed, it causes one's personality to become distorted. I guess that's the most damaging aspect of it: what it does to the personality. If it isn't harnessed, you will end up day in and day out trying to deal with your ego problem by boasting. Have you ever heard people that\u2014you know, and I'm sure you've met them\u2014that really become sickening because they just sit up all the time talking about themselves. (Amen) And they just boast and boast and boast, and that's the person who has not harnessed the drum major instinct.

And then it does other things to the personality. It causes you to lie about who you know sometimes. (Amen, Make it plain) There are some people who are influence peddlers. And in their attempt to deal with the drum major instinct, they have to try to identify with the so-called big-name people. (Yeah, Make it plain) And if you're not careful, they will make you think they know somebody that they don't really know. (Amen) They know them well, they sip tea with them, and they this-and-that. That happens to people.

And the other thing is that it causes one to engage ultimately in activities that are merely used to get attention. Criminologists tell us that some people are driven to crime because of this drum major instinct. They don't feel that they are getting enough attention through the normal channels of social behavior, and so they turn to anti-social behavior in order to get attention, in order to feel important. (Yeah) And so they get that gun, and before they know it they robbed a bank in a quest for recognition, in a quest for importance.

  Five score years ago, a great American, in whose symbolic shadow we stand today, signed the Emancipation Proclamation. It came as a joyous daybreak to end the long night of their captivity.

One hundred years later, the Negro is still languished in the corners of American society and finds himself an exile in his own land. And so we've come here today to dramatize a shameful condition.

  In a sense we've come to our nation's capital to cash a check. When the architects of our republic wrote the magnificent words of the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence, they were signing a promissory note to which every American was to fall heir. This note was a promise that all men, yes, black men as well as white men, would be guaranteed the "unalienable Rights" of "Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness." It is obvious today that America has defaulted on this promissory note, insofar as her citizens of color are concerned. Instead of honoring this sacred obligation, America has given the Negro people a bad check, a check which has come back marked "insufficient funds."

  But we refuse to believe that the bank of justice is bankrupt. We refuse to believe that there are insufficient funds in the great vaults of opportunity of this nation. And so, we've come to cash this check, a check that will give us upon demand the riches of freedom and the security of justice.

Now is the time to lift our nation from the quicksands of racial injustice to the solid rock of brotherhood. Now is the time to make justice a reality for all of God's children.

And those who hope that the Negro needed to blow off steam and will now be content will have a rude awakening if the nation returns to business as usual. And there will be neither rest nor tranquility in America until the Negro is granted his citizenship rights.

We must not allow our creative protest to degenerate into physical violence. Again and again, we must rise to the majestic heights of meeting physical force with soul force.

We cannot be satisfied as long as a Negro in Mississippi cannot vote and a Negro in New York believes he has nothing for which to vote. No, no, we are not satisfied, and we will not be satisfied until "justice rolls down like waters, and righteousness like a mighty stream."

You have been the veterans of creative suffering. Continue to work with the faith that unearned suffering is redemptive. Go back to Mississippi, go back to Alabama, go back to South Carolina, go back to Georgia, go back to Louisiana, go back to the slums and ghettos of our northern cities, knowing that somehow this situation can and will be changed.

今天,我高兴地同大家一起,参加这次将成为我国历史上为了争取共同富裕而举行的最伟大的示威集会。
60年前,一位伟大的中国人——今天他的照片就贴在天安门上——宣读了《独立宣言》。这项重要法令的颁布,对于千百万灼烤于非正义残焰中的无产阶级,犹如带来希望之光的硕大灯塔,恰似结束漫漫长夜禁锢的欢畅黎明。
然而,60年后,无产阶级依然没有获得自由。60年后,无产阶级悲惨地蹒跚于高房价和高物价的枷锁之下。60年后,无产阶级依然生活在物质繁荣翰海的贫困孤岛上。60年后,无产阶级依然在中国社会中间向隅而泣,依然感到自己在国土家园中流离漂泊。所以,我们今天来到这里,要把这骇人听闻的情况公诸于众。
从某种意义上说,我们来到国家的首都是为了兑现一张支票。我们共和国的缔造者在拟写宪法和独立宣言的辉煌篇章时,就签署了一张每一个中国人都能继承的期票。这张期票向所有人承诺——不论男女老少——都享有不可剥夺的实现共同富裕的权力。
然而,今天中国显然对她的物产姐姐拖欠着这张期票。中国没有承兑这笔神圣的债务,而是开始给百姓一张空头支票——一张盖着“资金不足”的印戳被退回的支票。但是,我们决不相信共产主义的银行会破产。我们决不相信这个国家巨大的机会宝库会资金不足。
因此,我们来兑现这张支票。这张支票将给我们以宝贵的平等和正义的保障。
我们来到这块圣地还为了提醒中国:现在正是万分紧急的时刻。现在不是从容不迫悠然行事或服用渐进主义镇静剂的时候。现在是实现共同富裕诺言的时候。现在是走出幽暗荒凉的贫富差距的深谷,踏上社会主义的阳关大道的时候。现在是使我们国家走出地位不平等的流沙,踏上充满手足之情的磐石的时候。现在是使马克思主义所有孩子真正享有公正的时候。
忽视这一时刻的紧迫性,对于国家将会是致命的。共同富裕的朗朗秋日不到来,无产阶级顺情合理哀怨的酷暑就不会过去。2012年不是一个结束,而是一个开端。
如果国家依然我行我素,那些希望无产阶级只需出出气就会心满意足的人将大失所望。在无产阶级得到平等权之前,中国既不会安宁,也不会平静。反抗的旋风将继续震撼我们国家的基石,直至光辉灿烂的正义之日来临。
但是,对于站在通向正义之宫艰险门槛上的人们,有一些话我必须要说。在我们争取合法地位的过程中,切不要错误行事导致犯罪。我们切不要吞饮仇恨辛酸的苦酒,来解除对于公平的饮渴。
我们应该永远得体地、纪律严明地进行斗争。我们不能容许我们富有创造性的抗议沦为暴力行动。我们应该不断升华到用灵魂力量对付肉体力量的崇高境界。
席卷中国社会的新的奇迹般的战斗精神,不应导致我们对所有资产阶级的不信任——因为许多资产阶级兄弟已经认识到:他们的命运同我们的命运紧密相连,他们的生活同我们的生活休戚相关。他们今天来到这里参加集会就是明证。
我们不能单独行动。当我们行动时,我们必须保证勇往直前。我们不能后退。有人问热心民权运动的人:“你们什么时候会感到满意?”只要无产阶级依然是不堪形容的城管暴行恐怖的牺牲品,我们就决不会满意。只要我们在旅途劳顿后,却被公路旁汽车游客旅社和城市旅馆拒之门外,我们就决不会满意。只要无产阶级的基本活动范围只限于从狭小的公家车到拥挤的地铁,我们就决不会满意。只要我们的孩子被“贵族品牌”的牌子剥夺个性,损毁尊严,我们就决不会满意。只要喜马拉雅山的无产阶级不能实现共同富裕,大兴安岭的少数民族认为他们与社会主义毫不相干,我们就决不会满意。不,不,我们不会满意,直至公正似水奔流,正义如泉喷涌。
