一部电影能否出彩，取决于它的观众定位和它反映出来的社会价值，《地球的最后一个夜晚》这部电影，很明显没有达到这两种要求，它其中隐含的寓意过于晦涩，以至于最终评分不高。但我们不得不承认的是，里面的演员能够给我们留下很深的印象。
电影中的大男主——罗纮武，由黄觉饰演。影片的前半段，他为了替白猫报仇，遇见了那个与他母亲十分相似的女子——万绮雯，万绮雯身上的神秘感深深吸引了他，二人由此陷入爱河，然而神秘的背后总会隐藏着危险，万绮雯注定无法与他长久，二人最后无疾而终；影片后半段，他在梦中再次遇见万绮雯，并与她再次相恋。黄觉饰演的罗纮武，略显深沉的眼睛里透露着强烈的感情，将一个外表强大，内心脆弱的男性形象表达得淋漓尽致。
从《倾城之恋》到《苍天圣土》，从《萧红》到《倾城》，黄觉的硬汉形象深入人心。有人对他的评价是：黄觉跟陈数一样，属于很少见的那种演员，因为演技是可以磨练的，气质却是天生很难改变的，而黄觉的气质，恰恰是处于那种男孩初长成男人的阶段，因此，他痴情痛苦可以被观众接受，他多情放浪也可以被观众接受，不管是邪还是正，都只在他一念之间，却都可以被理解。
影片中汤唯饰演的万绮雯，是一个美丽并充满神秘感的女子，身着墨绿色裙子，神秘艳丽，却无根无源，飘忽不定，她不仅抓住了罗纮武的心，更抓住了观众的心，很多人能够坚持看完这部晦涩的影片，很大一部分原因是想要了解这个女子。汤唯沉着内敛、收放自如的演技，将这个神秘的女子诠释地惟妙惟肖。
汤唯的《色•戒》、《黄金时代》、《北京遇上西雅图》都可以堪称经典，《色•戒》使她获得了很多荣耀，但片中几个大尺度的镜头使她在国内被封杀了很长时间。但她的表演极具张力，加上气质出众、具有独特的魅力，本身就可以给人以神秘感，《北京遇上西雅图》的文佳佳一角使她成功翻身。《地球最后的夜晚》中的万绮雯一角似乎是为汤唯量身打造。
影片中除了前面所述的两位演员外，白猫饰演者李鸿其也是该片一大亮点。李鸿其曾获第52届金马奖最佳新人奖，实力不容小觑，影片中的他虽然只有三分钟吃苹果的镜头，但他的感情由浅入深，将一个“最伤心的时候的人”表现的淋漓尽致。
这部电影的用户定位过高，导致后来的评价过于两极化，这同时也体现出，大众能够接受的艺术，更多的是“下里巴人”，以及能够引起情感共鸣的“阳春白雪”。
我认为地球最后的夜晚里有以下几个很不错的演员。
第一个，女主角汤唯， 汤唯凭借电影《晚秋》分别在韩国百想艺术大赏、韩国影评奖、釜山影评家奖等十余个评选中获得最佳女主角奖。之后的《北京遇上西雅图》打破华语都市爱情片票房纪录，并获得了第22届上海影评人奖、中国电影导演协会、北京大学生电影节最佳女演员等奖项。汤唯在我们很多人的心中一直是女神一样的存在，因为她不仅仅人长得好看，演技也是特别的突出，属于有颜值也有演技的女演员，《地球最后的夜晚》的导演说他觉得最符合剧中女主浪漫独特气质的人只有汤唯。
