由于不适应艰苦训练，蒋小鱼绞尽脑汁忽悠鲁炎准备一同逃离“兽营”，却误入海训场，当起守场兵。张冲做事冲动因一句话不和与战友大打出手，被发配到了海训场。女枪神乌云格日乐无意中知道海训场有射击高手而向上级申请到海训场进行训练，四个年轻人聚到一起，发生了……
看守海训场的两个老兵邓久光和柳小山是老一代的杰出侦察兵，由于受伤离开了侦察大队，他们卧薪尝胆把所有的希望和心血都寄托在这几个年轻人身上。可蒋小鱼等并不领情，他们认为没有任何希望，只是看场子的兵而拒绝进行训练。直到有一天，在一次突发的海盗劫持客船事件中，老班长柳小山为掩护蒋小鱼而牺牲。教官的鲜血让年轻人明白：所有的训练都是为了国家，保护人民是每一个军人肩上的责任！
蒋小鱼、鲁炎、张冲、乌云格日乐开始面对新的生活：接受最艰苦的训练，要“为祖国的大海流尽最后一滴血”。终于在一次和外国某特种部队的比武对抗中脱颖而出，以团队之力抵挡住了敌人的“偷袭”，成为了海军陆战队侦察大队的英雄，得到了象征海军侦察兵最高荣誉的“火蓝匕首”。
四人回到“兽营”集训，在进行一番非人的训练后，蒋小鱼等人坚持到最后，终于代表国家去参加国际侦察兵比武对抗。在国际赛场上，蒋小鱼充分发挥其过人能力，在“敌人”的无数次重击下，勇敢地“站”起来，将胜利的希望留给了战友。最终，中国队夺得了第一名，蒋小鱼功不可没。
归国后，蒋小鱼带头组建龙鲨中队，招兵买马锻炼队伍，部队战斗力与日俱增。一次代号“刀锋”的危险水下任务中，蒋小鱼和战友们义无反顾潜入深海，和国际海盗进行殊死搏斗。蒋小鱼为了为师傅报仇，拿一箱金子绑在自己身上后拉着海盗头子跳入大海……
