先从楷书基本笔画学起，即点、横、竖、撇、捺、提、钩、折八种。
一个字好比一台机器，基本笔画练好，等于把“零件”加工好；练好偏旁部首，就好比开始“组装”；练整个字形，就等于进入“总装”。就是说，先学“分解”，后学“连贯”。所以说，楷书是基础，而基本笔画则是基础的基础。
在练写基本笔画时，要分类去练。如练写“丶”时，要把丶、丿、丶、丨等分别练好，然后后再写“连贯”，进行组合。
一般的规律：练楷书先练基本笔画；再练笔画顺序；三练偏旁部首；四练字形结构；五练分行布局。
汉字的“点”画写时要加重，如石坠地。什么样的部位需要什么样的点，要做到“意在笔先”。如“宀”上头的点按钟绍京、欧阳询的写法，用短小竖势书写是比较有力的。
先练楷；再练行；三练草
只要你选好字帖，每天坚持写两页，持之以恒，两个月就可以收效。至于练写的方法，仍是先描摹，后临摹，然后对照找差距。对难写的字，要分别记下来，专门突破。
我曾经也遇到过您这样类似的问题，您不妨试一下这样做：您买的字帖是不是最适合您的，就是说，您写字的习惯一定要和字帖很相像，这样更容易联系。然后您就临帖，多买一些临帖纸，多描画几遍，然后再田字本或者米字本里试写。临帖后就试写，写不好的再去临帖，再试写。但是，希望您每天每次不要超过30分钟，不然您会有抵触心里。慢慢来，不要急。刚开始肯定是很困难的。
