一、hope的用法：

1、hope既可用作及物动词,也可用作不及物动词。用作及物动词时,其后一般接动词不定式或宾语从句,但不能接名词、动名词作宾语,也不能接复合宾语; 用作不及物动词时,常与介词for连用表示“对…抱有希望”。

2、hope所接的that从句中的谓语多由will〔may〕+ v. 构成, that可省略。在对话中常可用so或not代替前面句子中肯定式或否定式的宾语(动词不定式或that从句)。

3、hope不是转移否定动词,表示否定意义时,否定词可放在主句中,也可放在从句中,但意义不同,用so或not代替时亦如此。注意can't but hope的意思是“只能希望”。

4、hope常与介词of或for连用,其后可接名词、动名词或动名词的复合结构。其后还常接由that引导的同位语从句。
