My holiday
Before my holiday begins,I usually plan for my holiday first.As a student of grade six,I think study is more important than recreation.I will finish my homework in the first fifteen days and than I'll prepare for my lessons.I'll also read newspapers to broaden my horizons.When I'm not in mood studying,I'll help my mother to do the housework or play video games.I'll make good use of my holiday and have a good time.
从前，一个父亲有四个儿子。他希望儿子们能学会凡事不要匆匆下结论。于是他轮流派遣儿子们到很远的地方去观察一棵梨树。
The first son went in the winter, the second in the spring, the third in summer, and the youngest son in the fall.
大儿子冬天出发，二儿子春天启程，老三去的时候已是夏季，老四于金秋时节踏上行程。
When they had all gone and come back, he called them together to describe what they had seen.
等他们都全部到达并且返回时，父亲把他们叫到一块儿，让他们描述各自的所见。
The first son said that the tree was ugly, bent, and twisted. The second son said no，it was covered with green buds and full of promise.
大儿子数落说树干很难看，弯弯曲曲的。二儿子连忙否认，树上长满嫩绿的新芽，生机盎然。
The third son disagreed, he said it was laden with blossoms that smelled so sweet and looked so beautiful, it was the most graceful thing he had ever seen.
老三反对说，树上明明开满鲜花，吐露芬芳，绚丽夺目。这是他所见过最美丽的景象。
The last son disagreed with all of them; he said it was ripe and drooping with fruit, full of life and fulfillment.
老四不同意他们所有人的说法，认为枝头上硕果累累，充满生机和丰收的喜悦。
The man then explained to his sons that they were all right, because they had each seen but one season in the tree’s life.
于是父亲解释说，儿子们的说法都正确，因为他们每个人看见的只是大树一年四季中的一个季节。
He told them that you can not judge a tree, or a person, by only one season, and that the essence of who they are - and the pleasure, joy, and love that come from that life - can only be measured at the end, when all the seasons are up.
他告诫儿子们，不能以一季来判断树，更不能以一时来判断人，因为人之本质——源自一生中的愉悦、欢乐和爱——只有当其一生了结时，才可以下定论。
If you give up when it’s winter, you will miss the promise of your spring, the beauty of your summer, and fulfillment of your fall. Don’t let the pain of one season destroy the joy of all the rest.
如果你在冬季就已放弃，那么你将会错过春季的生机、夏季的绚丽和秋季的丰收。不要让一季的痛苦破坏其余的欢乐。 读后感After reading this story, I have learned the importance of patience. The four sons in that story judge that pear tree superficially. Even though all their statements are right, they are one-sided conclusion. Due to their impatience, they miss the beauty and passion of other seasons.
As we all know, Thomas Edison, the great inventor the world has never seen, would not invent the electric light if he was not patient to do thousands of those boring experiments. So, from this moment on, just be patient to others, and also be patient to yourself.
I’ve read a book called “The Lion King”during my Summer Holiday. I already watch it in the cartoon when I was little, but now I reverse the story by reading the book.
It was a book about the King of the private land called Mufasa, he have a brother called Scar, a jealousy person. He wants to be the future king, to be the leader of all animals. But his dream is broken by the newborn baby of Mufasa – Simba~! A really cute little lion, because he will become the future king after Mufasa’s death, therefore there’s no chance for Scar. So he’s trying to kill both of them. So he puts Simba into danger and killed Mufasa. He told Simba it was all Simba’s false because Mufasa is dead because he was trying to safe Simba. So Simba run away by fear. He meets two friends in a beautiful land. They taught Simba everything will be fine as the time passing. But once Simba meet his best friend Sara, and he follows her back to his kingdom and found out the truth about his father’s death, therefore he killed Scar, and he live happily with other animals ever after~!
This is a good story for everyone, it’s easy for children to understand the main story, but it’s good for someone even older because it tell us that it’s important to facing the past, even know the past may hurts but you have to face it and learn things from it, don’t let it happens next time to make a better future~!!
