一、指代不同
1、both：两个都。

二、用法不同
1、both：both用作形容词时，作“两个，俩”解，只用作定语，是前位限定词，常与复数名词连用。
2、all：all用作代词的基本意思是“全部”“一切”，接动词单数形式时是 all things，表示“事物”，接动词复数形式时是 all people，表示“人”。
3、either：either作代词时，意为“(二者之中)任何一个”，在句中作主语或宾语,表示单数概念，作主语时谓语动词一般用单数形式，但在否定句中常用复数形式。
4、neither：neither用作代词时表示“两者都不”，可单独使用，用于没有冠词、物主代词、指示代词等限定词修饰的单数名词前，用作主语时，谓语动词用作单数形式，也可以和介词of连用，后接复数名词或人称代词，名词前面一定要有限定词修饰。
