经典物理学按物理学自身发展的特点分期。把物理学的发展分为若干时期,在每一时期中找出一些具有表征性的特点。这主要是根据物理学发展的内在逻辑分期的,采用这一分期原则既可兼顾到社会生产和社会经济形态的影响,又能揭示出贯穿于物理学发展过程中的内在规律性。本讲义按照物理学本身发展的规律,结合社会经济各时期的特点,并考虑到不同时期有不同的研究方法,把物理学发展的历史大体分为三个时期。第一、经验物理的萌芽时期(17世纪以前)这一时期内我国和古希腊形成两个东西交相辉映的文化中心。经验科学已从生产劳动中逐渐分化出来,这时的主要方法是直觉观察与哲学的猜测性思辨。与生产活动及人们自身直接感觉有关的天文、力、热、声、光(几何光学)等知识首先得到较多发展。除希腊的静力学外,中国在以上几方面在当时都处于领先地位。第二、经典物理学的建立和发展时期(17世纪初—19世纪末)这时资本主义生产促进了技术与科学的发展,形成了比较完整的经典物理学体系。系统的观察实验和严密的数学推导相结合的方法,被引进物理学中,导致了17世纪主要在天文学和力学领域中的“科学革命”。牛顿力学体系的建立,标志着近代物理学的诞生。经过18世纪的准备,物理学在19世纪获得了迅速和重要的发展。终于在19世纪末以经典力学、热力学和统计物理学、经典电磁场理论为支柱,使经典物理学的发展达到了它的顶峰。在爱因斯坦的相对论提出后,经典物理的绝对时间和绝对空间被彻底打破,经典宏观物理就进入了宇宙空间阶段。后来随着量子力学的深入,发现在微观上相对论与量子力学不统一,并有在奇点处失效的缺憾,所以相对论也被列入经典物理学。物理学是人们对无生命自然界中物质的转变的知识做出规律性的总结。这种运动和转变应有两种。一是早期人们通过感官视觉的延伸,二是近代人们通过发明创造供观察测量用的科学仪器,实验得出的结果。物理学从研究角度及观点不同,可分为微观与宏观两部分,宏观是不分析微粒群中的单个作用效果而直接考虑整体效果,是最早期就已经出现的,微观物理学随着科技的发展理论逐渐完善。其次,物理又是一种智能。诚如诺贝尔物理学奖得主、德国科学家玻恩所言:“与其说是因为我发表的工作里包含了一个自然现象的发现,倒不如说是因为那里包含了一个关于自然现象的科学思想方法基础。”物理学之所以被人们公认为一门重要的科学,不仅仅在于它对客观世界的规律作出了深刻的揭示,还因为它在发展、成长的过程中,形成了一整套独特而卓有成效的思想方法体系。正因为如此,使得物理学当之无愧地成了人类智能的结晶,文明的瑰宝。大量事实表明,物理思想与方法不仅对物理学本身有价值,而且对整个自然科学,乃至社会科学的发展都有着重要的贡献。有人统计过,自20世纪中叶以来,在诺贝尔化学奖、生物及医学奖,甚至经济学奖的获奖者中,有一半以上的人具有物理学的背景;——这意味着他们从物理学中汲取了智能,转而在非物理领域里获得了成功。——反过来,却从未发现有非物理专业出身的科学家问鼎诺贝尔物理学奖的事例。这就是物理智能的力量。难怪国外有专家十分尖锐地指出:没有物理修养的民族是愚蠢的民族!总之物理学是概括规律性的总结,是概括经验科学性的理论认识。[编辑本段]现代物理学的研究方法对于物理学理论和实验来说,物理量的定义和测量的假设选择,理论的数学,理论与实验的比较是与实验定律一致,是物理学理论的唯一目标。人们能通过这样的结合解决问题,就是预言指导科学实践这不是大唯物主义思想,其实是物理学理论的目的和结构。[编辑本段]现代物理学的思想理论物理与形而上学的关系在不断反思形而上学而产生的非经验主义的客观原理的基础上,物理学理论可以用它自身的科学术语来判断。而不包依赖于它们可能从属于哲学学派的主张。在着手描述的物理性质中选择简单的性质,其它性质则是群聚的想象和组合。通过恰当的测量方法和数学技巧从而进一步认知事物的本来性质。实验选择后的数量存在某种对应关系。一种关系可以有多数实验与其对应,但一个实验不能对应多种关系。也就是说,一个规律可以体现在多个实验中,但多个实验不一定只反映一个规律。对于物理学来说理论预言与现实一致与否是真理的唯一判断标准
