一、初读，读准字音，感悟诗韵由于几千年的时空距离，造成了古诗文与现代学生之间的隔膜。要想让学生真正地走近古诗文，学好古诗文，首先就要把诗句读准、读通，初步感悟诗的韵味。
对小学生来说，主要的方法就是借助拼音把字音读准，在自读时做到不错字、不少字、不多字，吐字清晰，字字响亮；同时要抓准韵脚，读好诗韵。如《泊船瓜洲》中的“间”字是仄音 jiàn ，如果读成平音“jiān”，就会影响朗读的和谐效果。对韵脚要恰当重读，非韵脚则读得轻一些，这样才能产生和谐应对的韵味效果。同时，朗读时有的字音要适当拉长一些，以表现出古诗回环起伏、委婉动听的音韵美。
二、诵读，感悟诗情，读出情味
感悟诗情最直接的做法就是反复诵读，在读中强调字词的轻重舒缓、语调的抑扬顿挫，一遍一遍地读出古诗文的情意和韵味。
1.重音
一首诗的重音处理得好不好，能直接说明读者是否能准确地表情达意。一般来说，高音响亮，多用于表示兴奋、喜悦的感情；低音幽沉，则用来表示肃穆、悲哀的感情。如在朗读《游子吟》中“临行密密缝，意恐迟迟归” 一句时，重音应落在“密密缝”和“迟迟归”上。这样的重音处理，能让人仿佛听到母亲的声声叮咛，看到母亲慈爱的面容，体味到诗句所表达出的浓浓母爱。
2.语调
诵读时要根据诗文内容处理好语调的平缓、上升，这样才能更好地表达出作者的感情。如《望天门山》的“天门中断楚江开”一句，“天门”读得平缓，“中断”开始上升，“楚江开”达到顶点，“开”更重。通过指导、模仿，读出正确的语调，学生就能体会到楚江不顾一切冲破阻碍的气势。
3.节奏
古诗文诵读节奏一般按音节或按语意划分。例如，“花落知多少”一句，依音节可划分为“花落/知/多少”；依意义可划分为“花落/知多少”。总的来说，诗歌中按音节划分节奏的居多。
另外，诵读的节奏要根据全篇基调而定。基调忧郁的，可用慢节奏；基调欢快的，可用快节奏。例如，《春日》中的“胜日寻芳泗水滨，无边光景一时新”，这两句诗充分体现了诗人喜悦的心情。诵读时，节奏可以稍快，重音要放在“新”上，语调上扬，这样诗的感情也就读出来了。
三、吟诵，走入诗魂，读出意味
古人云：“三分诗，七分读。”意思是说一首诗的情感、韵味以及深刻的含义，要通过吟诵才能得以准确地表达出来。这里的“读”指的就是吟诵。只有在反复地吟诵中，才能读好语调、读出感情、品出韵味，浮现出诗的意蕴。因此，教师要苦练诵读基本功，必要时也可以编古诗词为歌而唱，如此课堂教学就能熠熠生辉。
