1. 形容词的比较级和最高级的用法
（1）形容词比较级用于两者（人或物）之间的比较，表示一方比另一方“更……”或“较……”，后面通常用比较连词than连接另一方所比较的人或物。than引导的是比较状语从句，但为了避免重复，从句中有些与主句相同的部分常常省略，而把相比较的部分省略出来。另外，在上下文明确时，形容词比较级也可以单独使用。例如：

His English is better than his brother 's (is).
