西医药治疗(1)局部可用复方硼砂液漱口，每日3～5次，亦可用杜灭芬、六神丸等口含药含化。
(2)见咽部淋巴滤泡有化脓者可给予抗菌素口服或肌肉注射。
(3)发热、头痛明显者可服阿斯匹林解热止痛。
中医药治疗
(1)对于发病初期，表现为咽干微痛、灼热、吞咽不利，咽部粘膜充血但未化脓者。
治法：疏风清热，解毒利咽。
方药：荆芥10克、防风10克、牛蒡子10克、金银花10克、连翘10克、桑白皮10克、赤芍10克、桔梗10克、黄芩10克、天花粉10克、玄参10克、浙贝母10克、生甘草6克。
(2)对于发病几口后症状加重者。
治法：泄热解毒，利咽消肿。
方药：连翘10克、栀子10克、黄芩10克、薄荷3克、牛蒡子10克、玄参10克、金银花10克、大黄5克、防风10克、荆芥10克、桔梗10克、生甘草6克。
具体情况应由医生根据病因进行有针对性的治疗。局部对症治疗可以选用中成药，如利咽灵、草珊瑚含片、保安散等，可同时配合泡茶饮：双花、麦冬、胖大海、生甘草各等份，开水冲泡频服。清咽饮：乌梅肉、生甘草、沙参、麦冬、桔梗、元参各50克，捣碎混匀，每日3次，每次服15克左右，以沸水冲饮。
建议患者及时的去往医院查明情况，发现问题及时的进行治疗。
