小学数学的学习是为了更高水平的学习而奠定的基础，基础教育十分重要，老师应该根据每位学生的特点来选择不同的教育模式，因材施教是流传至今的儒家教育模式，这种教学模式适合中国的国情，教育工作者应该学习并且落实。小学生的注意力很难集中，据科学调查研究表明，小学生在一堂四五十分钟的课上，真正能集中精力的时间只有七到十分钟，因此，提高课堂效率是一件十分必要的事情。
现在小学生普遍存在的一个问题是动手能力差，不仅体现在实践操作当中，日常生活中有所体现，眼高手低这种高分低能的现象是要不得的，我们要加强学生们的动手操作能力，要增加实践操作课，这样不仅锻炼了孩子们的动手能力，还让孩子们进行了脑力活动，只有在操作中学习，学生们才能在探索中发现问题并且解决问题，无论试验的结果是好是坏，重要的是参与的过程，玩出好成绩，何乐而不为呢？
