【功用】(1)清肝明目：本品为眼科常用药，用于肝胆郁热所致的目赤肿痛、怕光流泪。配菊花、黄芩治急性结膜炎；配菊花、夏枯草用于高血压，也可单味服用。
(2)散风清热：用于风热或肝火上升之头痛。
【用法】10～15克。能润肠通便，大便泄泻者忌用。
密蒙花
【性味】甘、微寒。
【功用】清肝明目：本品为眼科专用药，用于血虚肝热之眼病，常配枸杞子、菟丝子。治肝经实热之眼病则常配青葙子、菊花等。
【用法】6～10克。
瓜蒌(全瓜蒌、括蒌)
【性味】甘、寒。
【功用】(1)全瓜蒌润肺宽胸，清热化痰，润肠通便：用于肺热痰稠、胸痹心痛、大便燥结。治胸痹心痛(如心绞痛)配薤白。
(2)瓜蒌皮(瓜蒌之皮)清热化痰，宽胸利膈：用于痰热咳嗽及心胸痛。
(3)瓜蒌仁或瓜蒌子润燥滑肠：用于肠燥便秘。
【用法】全瓜蒌10～20克；瓜篓皮6~12克；瓜篓仁10~15克。
肉桂(肉桂心、官桂)
【性味】辛、甘、大热。
【功用】(1)补火助阳：用于肾阳虚衰之水肿尿少、腹冷久泻、四肢发凉，常配附子。
(2)祛寒止痛：用于寒证的胃痛、腹痛、痛经等。前人有“下部腹痛非此不能止”之说。常配吴萸、干姜。
【用法】3～6克。有效成分煎煮后易于挥发，故研末冲服效著。孕妇忌服。
丁香(公丁香)。
【性味】辛、温。
【功用】(1)温中降逆：本品为治疗胃寒呃逆之要药。用于脾胃虚寒之呃逆，常配柿蒂。亦用于虚寒性呕吐、泄泻。
(2)温肾助阳：用于肾阳虚之阴冷、阳萎等。
【用法】1.5～3克。
川椒
【性味】辛、热、有毒。
【功用】(1)驱寒止痛：用于阴寒内盛之脘腹绞痛。
(2)杀虫：用于蛔虫所致之腹痛、吐蛔，并有驱蛔作用，常配乌梅。

【性味】甘、酸、微温。
【功用】固精缩尿：用于肝肾不足之遗精、尿频、遗尿，常配桑螵蛸。
