提高小学数学课堂教学有效性，首先要找准学生原有认知能力的水平。在付宣萍老师执教的一年级《认识钟表》一课中，她根据一年级孩子们的认知能力，一上课就用实物钟引导学生观察钟面，从认识钟面上的数字到认识时针、分针，并用儿歌引导学生正确区分时针与分针，让学生很快就学会了认识钟表。
二、创造性使用教材是提高课堂有效性的基础
教师对教材不能简单地执行与传递，而要充分分析教材的编写意图，研究教材内容之间的相互联系，明确所学内容在整个教材体系中的地位和作用，挖掘知识的多重价值，根据教学目标、学生需求和自己的教学风格，对教材内容进行适当筛选、调整和重组，安排出符合学生认知水平的教学内容。
比如，《鸡兔同笼》这一课中，陈杨兵老师教学时对教材进行大胆地重组与整合，用列表法让学生在做中感知，做中思考，激发了学生学习兴趣，很快突破了该节课的教学难点，并将知识迁移到用“鸡兔同笼”这一现象解决生活中的实际问题，如钱币、车轮等，让学生的思维得到了有效拓展。
三、多样化的教学方法是提高课堂有效性的途径
教师要根据不同的教学内容和学生学习的实际情况，运用多种教学方法实现有效教学。本次赵兰老师执教的《组合图形的面积》一课中，主要采用探究式教学法，让学生通过小组合作探究，全面开花，一下子找出多种解题方法，并结合多媒体演示来对学生的介绍进行肯定。这样更加突出了学生在学习中的主体地位，也为后面的学习腾出了更多的课堂教学时间，提高了课堂教学的有效性。而邓丰老师则用学生最喜欢的看哪部动画片的活动，引出新知――《统计》，让低年级小朋友一下子就有了极大的兴趣，在活动中学习新知，收到了事半功倍的效果。
四、多媒体信息技术的恰当运用有力地保证了课堂时效
本次研究赛课中，7位教师都运用了多媒体课件，图文并茂，形象直观，有力地保证了课堂教学时效性。在这些课件中，有的用图片展示归纳呈现的多种解题方法，如《组合图形的面积》一课；有的通过视频引起学生兴趣，如《统计》一课；有的则用插图直观展示教材实例，节省画图时间，如《倍的认识》一课。
不管是传统的教学，还是新课改理念下的教学，甚至于将来的教学，我们的基本出发点是一样的，那就是让课堂40分钟更具有时效性，从而让学生真正得到发展，这也是每位一线数学教师教学的终极目标
