通过东准噶尔地区陆相火山作用及其金、铜成矿系统、深入的研究，把通常被人们视为各不相同的两类岩石——陆相火山岩类同中性—中酸性侵入岩类从成因上联系和统一起来，将其归并为陆相火山作用所形成的两类成矿岩浆建造——火山喷溢喷发岩建造和潜火山杂岩建造（即中性—中酸性浅成岩浆建造），并以一系列实际资料为依据论证两类成矿岩浆建造与金、铜成矿不可分割的成因联系及其成矿的基本特征和规律，提出和建立陆相火山作用成岩成矿的综合成因模式。这无疑是东准噶尔乃至新疆陆相火山作用成岩成矿研究一项重要的新成果。联想到作者（本书第一作者）60年代前期在新疆参加区测工作时，人们常常把大片火山岩区同大片花岗岩区一样，作为“简单区”来对待，至于那些次火山侵入或浅成超浅成的小岩体，则常常为人们所忽略，更谈不上对这些陆相火山岩，潜火山岩类成岩成矿作用的深入研究了。即使到了80年代及至90年代初期，也只是限于与陆相火山岩、潜火山岩类有关金、铜成矿各别矿区零散资料的介绍或报道，缺乏专门的、深入的研究。从这一历史情况来看，今天，我们在陆相火山成岩成矿作用这一领域的研究成果，无疑更是一种巨大的前进与发展。
二、陆相火山作用成矿的普遍意义和经济价值
愈来愈多的丰富资料证明，对于金、铜成矿来说，陆相火山成矿作用不仅是东准噶尔地区最为重要的成矿作用，也是整个新疆北部最为重要的成矿作用。以与火山喷溢喷发岩建造有关的陆相火山岩型浅成低温（或中低温）热液金矿而论，继80年代后期在东准噶尔奇台县境内率先发现金山沟陆相火山岩型金矿床以来，紧接着相继发现了西天山的阿希金矿和东天山的西滩金矿（或称石英滩金矿）这两处大规模的陆相火山岩型金矿床。进入90年代以来，又先后发现了西天山的恰布坎卓它、东天山北部的索尔巴斯套，东准噶尔的双峰山等陆相火山岩型金矿床以及伊吾县淖毛湖、伊宁县加曼特朗布拉等一系列陆相火山岩型金矿化区（带）的新线索。上述事实不仅充分证明与陆相火山岩有关金矿的成矿在新疆北部的普遍意义，而且由于西滩、阿希等大型、特大型金矿床的发现和投入矿山开发，也展示了推动新疆经济发展的巨大经济价值。
至于与潜火山杂岩建造（或中性中酸性浅成岩浆建造）有关的金、铜成矿，则具有更为明显的普遍意义，远不是仅限于东准噶尔地区。以金矿而论，如同东准噶尔与潜火山杂岩建造有关形成了库布苏、艾盖巴依、北山、金山等一系列不同类型金矿床一样，在新疆北部其他许多地区也都发现有此类与潜火山杂岩有关的金矿床、矿化区，如东天山北部的马庄山金矿区，金窝子金矿床，西准噶尔的阔尔真阔腊金矿床等。铜矿也不例外，如同东准噶尔一样，在新疆北部其他许多地区发现与潜火山杂岩有关的不同类型的铜矿床，也日益增多。如西天山的喇嘛苏铜矿，莱斯高尔铜钼矿，东天山的赤湖铜矿，三叉口铜矿，阿尔泰南缘的乔夏哈拉、老山口等铁-铜-金矿，卡拉先格尔铜（铁）矿等等。西准噶尔的阔尔真阔腊金矿区，据尹意球等（2001）研究，预测其矿区深部也存在类似于福建紫金山式铜、金矿床的隐伏斑岩型铜矿的潜在远景。特别是近年来东天山康古尔金矿带东段土屋，延东等大规模斑岩型铜矿的发现，不仅有力地证实了与潜火山杂岩有关铜矿成矿的普遍意义，也揭示了新疆斑岩型铜矿的巨大前景，以事实否定了某些国外学者断言在新疆不可能找到大规模斑岩铜矿床的论断。
三、与中国东部陆相火山作用成矿的对比
中国东部陆相火山作用最集中的地带，莫过于世界闻名的长江中下游铜、金、铁成矿带。该带西段从湖北的大冶、阳新经江西的九江、瑞昌至安徽的安庆、铜陵一带，以与潜火山杂岩建造（中性—中酸性浅成—超浅成侵入岩类）有关的大规模铜、金、铁成矿为主，而该带东段的宁芜地区，则以与中性—中基性陆相火山岩及其相应的潜火山杂岩均有关而形成的宁芜式铁矿这一铁矿床系列为特征，也兼有中小规模的铜、金成矿。
新疆东准噶尔陆相火山作用成矿与长江中下游陆相火山作用成矿相对比，既有其基本的共同点，也有其特定的差异性（表3-18）。总起来可以概况为以下几个方面：

（1）陆相火山作用及由其所形成的两类成矿岩浆建造火山喷溢喷发岩建造和潜火山杂岩建造（中性—中酸性浅成岩浆建造）两地都存在，且二者总体特征基本一致。
（2）两类成矿岩浆建造以铜、金、铁组合为主要标志的成矿专属性总体一致。陆相火山作用成矿的主要特征和规律也基本雷同。
（3）在两类成矿岩浆建造基本特征总体一致的前提下，二者成岩成矿时代明显不同。包括东准噶尔在内的新疆北部，两类成矿岩浆建造成岩成矿时代为晚古生代（华力西中、晚期），而长江中下游及其毗邻地区，两类成矿岩浆建造成岩成矿时代为中生代（燕山早期）。另外，在岩石化学性质上也略有差异。两类成矿岩浆建造岩石化学性质在新疆北部普遍以富钠为特征，而长江中下游及其毗邻地区则是以富钾为主，部分地区或岩石富钠。尽管存在上述差异，但二者都是形成于岛弧或活动陆缘型挤压造山环境下的同类产物；二者地质学、岩石学和地球化学的主要特征也基本相同。
（4）在两类成矿岩浆建造成矿专属性总体一致的前提下，具体的成矿元素组合和轻重比例关系有所差异。如火山喷溢喷发岩成矿，包括东准噶尔在内的新疆北部，火山喷溢喷发岩成矿以金为主，主要形成陆相火山岩型浅成低温（或中低温）热液金矿，而长江中下游及其毗邻地区，火山喷溢喷发岩成矿以铁为主，主要形成“玢岩铁矿”成矿系列中的陆相火山岩型铁矿。又如潜火山杂岩成矿，包括东准噶尔在内的新疆北部，潜火山杂岩成矿以铜、金为主，主要伴有铁、钼、银，而长江中下游及其毗邻地区，在以铜、金成矿占主导地位的同时，铁、钼、银、铅、锌等的成矿也具有重要而普遍的意义，分别形成了一系列大型至特大型矿床。
通过上述对比，可以看到两地陆相火山作用两类成矿岩浆建造在其各自所在的地区都占用重要的地位，成为当地最为重要和最具发展前景的成矿岩浆建造。但无论就两类成矿岩浆建造成岩成矿作用的基础地质研究，还是相关贵重、有色金属矿产资源的综合找矿预测及找矿勘查工作，包括东准噶尔在内的新疆北部，比长江中下游地区都存在较大差距。总体看来，新疆陆相火山作用成矿的研究程度和找矿勘查工作程度都比较低。正因为如此，从战略眼光来衡量，进一步大力加强东准噶尔和新疆北部陆相火山作用及其铜、金成矿的深入研究及相应的找矿勘查工作，无疑具有极为重要而深远的意义。深信通过大家坚持不懈的深入工作，新疆北部也必将像中国东部长江中下游陆相火山作用成矿带一样，成为跃起于我国西部又一规模宏伟的陆相火山作用成矿带（区），并将以其丰富的贵重、有色金属矿产资源，为我国西部大开发的壮丽事业作出更大的贡献。
