写一篇我对看电视的看法

Millions of people now have at least one television in their home nowadays.Is television a good or bad influence on society? Well television is in my opinion very good.
The television in today\u2019s society has become a popular source of information. It acts as a source of information on a multitude of subjects for broadcast. For example, a person with a specific interest can subscribe to a TV channel which is relevant to his interest in order to receive information that he's interested in.
Next, the television often acts as an eye into the world around us. It informs us of the most recent happenings around the world. TV serves as the best means for a speedy spread of news about important incidents or events taking place. What has happened in the remotest corner of the world can reach us within minutes. This is very helpful in times of crisis when TV media is to be used for reporting news which needing immediate attention.
Along with informational and educational purposes, television serves as a media of entertainment as well. Watching various TV programs allows many people to relieve stress and unwind after a long days work.
In a nutshell, television today has many positive effects and influences on society. Therefore, I would like to emphasize that "TV is not a bad influence!" Thank you.
进入新世纪以来，电视在人们日常生活中扮演了重要的角色。有些人认为电视的产生是件好事，有些人则认为电视是对当代社会的一个诅咒，特别是对青少年来说。在我看来，电视有利有弊。
Television makes people realize what the rest of the world is going on. Before television was invented, people used newspapers, radio to spread the news. But none of this is faster than TV. If somewhere else is having an earthquake, we can know immediately. TV also makes our tedious life more colorful. As to those who retire, housewives, or kids who having their summer holiday, TV has been a good company. Turn on TV people can enjoy the latest films and programs without going to the cinema. It also offers specialized programs such as cooking, teaching, exercise and so on. It teaches us knowledge and broadens our horizon.
电视让人们了解到世界上究竟发生了什么。在电视还没有发明之前，人们通过报纸、广播来沟通传递信息。但它们的传播速度远远比不上电视。如果某个地方发生了地震，我们马上就能知道。电视也让我们枯燥的生活变得有趣。对那些退休的人、家庭主妇、在家里度过暑假的孩子们来说，电视是个很好的伙伴。打开电视，不用去电影院，就能看到最新的电影和节目。电视也提供特殊的节目，例如烹饪、教学、健身等等。它教给我们知识，扩宽我们的眼界。
Just like each coin has two sides, television is no exception. It can be harmful too. Some of the programs are too violence for teenagers to watch. Fake advertising are full of mid-night programs. And some people complain that TV takes up all their free time, they don’t even have time to go outside for family reunions or hang out with their friends any more. Some of them are so indulge in TV that they become potato couch. Some people say that watching TV is a waste of time.
就像任何硬币都有两面，电视也不例外。它也会给人带来害处。有些电视节目过于暴力不适合青少年观看。虚假广告充斥着午夜节目。有些人抱怨到电视占用了人们过多的自由时间，他们都没空参加家庭聚会或者与朋友们一起外出游玩了。更有甚者过度沉迷于电视，以至于变成了“马铃薯沙发”。看电视简直就是浪费时间啊！
To sum up, we should hold the right attitude toward TV. We should use it in an appropriate way, sho orten the time that we spend on TV, only watch the meaningful programs. Only in this way can we benefit a lot from it.
总的来说，我们应该对电视持一个正确的态度。正确的使用电视，减少看电视的时间，只看那些有意义的节目。只有这样，我们才能够从中获取好处。
