When I was a little girl in summer vacation, I went to my mother's hometown Tangshan. At first, I stayed at my uncle's house. I was very happy in my uncle's house, because my uncle had a daughter older than me.She often took me to some places. We spent ten days together. I remember that on the tenth day, there was a big earthquake happened at about 3:00 in the morning.
When I was dreaming, I woke up and found myself lying under a pile of stones. I couldn't move. In fact, I knew nothing about what happened until my uncle rescued me from the ruins.
Most of the houses collapsed during the earthquake. We put up a lot of tents and we received a lot of food from every city in our country, and they helped us through those difficult days. I think if we didn't live in New China, we couldn't have survived the earthquake.
I'm very lucky. So is my uncle's family.
