现代设计的概念
设计是一种有意识、有动机、积极主观地解决功能，创造市场，影响社会，改变行为的创造行为。现代设计面向大众，更有别于传统设计概念的特征就是受到全球化的影响，设计包容的信息传播速度越来越快，设计是艺术与技术的结合，现代设计更体现出高科技的运用，显而易见，西方发达资本主义国家正是借助其科学技术的先进，在全球化的进程中，透过设计以强势影响全球，落后国家及地区在享受西方现代科技的同时，势必要付出深痛代价，受到西方资本主义文化、价值观念等的影响，甚至丧失了自身的文化价值观念。
现代设计领域渗透于人类生活的各个方面，衣、食、住、行、学习、工作、社会交流、旅游娱乐等。在现代社会中，人与人之间的直接交流已远不及人与物之间的普遍大量，现代设计正是解决人与人通过物进行交流的手段.人类的设计由来已久，从最原始的劳动工具发展到现代的高档艺术消费品，从解决基本的使用功能到如今的纯精神满足，设计活动满足使用功能的同时，在人类文明的进程中,设计满足精神功能的特征更显强大。
