不用执着，先去学，在学的过程里，自然就会领悟到，但是初学佛法还是要有善方法的。有大德对此开示：
对于初学佛的人应该注意，要先学习戒律，这是学佛最关键的一步。这步如果走错了，将来就会步步错。如果这步做对了，将来修行上就会很顺利。我们知道，佛法，是依法不依人的。我们怎样去依法不依人？只有能够从戒律开始，只有按戒律的标准去要求一切事物，我们才有了标准，我们才知道哪条路是正确的，哪条路不是正确的。这个就很重要了。所以，学佛最主要的应该注意戒律。
刚开始学佛时，因为还没有选择法门，一定要注意，头一条就要五宗平等弘扬。不要有分别心，说我是净土，我是禅宗，我是密宗，我是学教的，我是学律的，如果有了这种分别，就远离了佛法。
首先要注意这个。刚开始，我们可能有些不习惯。有时对某个法门，我产生热情。不管怎么产生热情，好和坏，一定注意自己的心态，一定要五宗平等弘扬，这样我们才摆正位置。不受我们的激情，不受我们单方面的知见而左右。因为我们的知见，往往都产生于我们喜欢和不喜欢来决定。佛法是远离知见的。我们应该五宗平等弘扬，这样我们才能真正的得到佛法。
有的人为什么进入一种法门以后，就不能自拔了呢？就因为刚开始学佛时，他没有五宗平等弘扬。没有五宗平等弘扬，而且认为修行佛法必须进入一个法门。进入法门后，他执着这一个法门，是唯一的一个法门。所以说，他就远离了整个的佛法。这个法门他也站不住。佛法法门，是法法平等，都是让人成佛的。如果我们执着了哪个法门好，我们就会产生自己的知见，以少为足，最后远离了佛法。
也是一个初学佛的人，应该特别注意的事情。特别在末法时期，这点就特别可怕。昨天还来位居士，他想发心，要投资两个亿建立一个念佛堂，要建十几层楼，纯粹念佛，有现代的管理等等。但是一听，发现他这个说法和想法，都是一种错误的知见。我说，你这样的做法是不对的，一个你办不到，另外天时地利，对你来讲都不合适。另外知见也不正。我说，你要想念佛，应该踏踏实实，有一个人我一个人念，有两人两个人念，不管人多少，不管环境好和坏。而决定我要从当下念佛开始，这就对了。至于将来、明天怎么样，那是明天的事情，不要管明天的事情，就管今天我能不能把这句佛号念出来，这是主要的。后来他也许接受，也许不接受。
初学佛，我认为从戒律开始，再选择适当的书。特别学《金刚经》，这个很主要，因为开悟的《金刚经》。《金刚经》学完了以后，你才可以学密，学净土，否则的话，就堕落相里去了，这也是很可怕。
有的先从《地藏经》学，问题是《地藏经》虽然讲了孝道。但是由于我们的知见、理解，我们的习性，有的不正确，就会变成了一种像大仙似的，这也不合适。最后，自己弄得神经兮兮，这也不好。
所以说应该先从《金刚经》学起。有了《金刚经》的基础，我们再学其他法门就会很快了。像学密，它有个要求，学密先学显，所以这个很主要。
