\u5174\u8da3\u7684\u91cd\u8981\u82f1\u8bed\u6f14\u8bb2\u7a3fI have been practicing Oriental Calligraphy for many years. The uniqueness of this art form is not in the product, but the process. You need a long preparation time - about an hour to grind your black ink to an adequate thickness. You use the brush to write characters on fine rice paper.
Calligraphy is the most direct form of all artistic expression. Just as each movement of a dancer is absolute, so the very gesture of the calligrapher is essential. It is not the meaning of the character but the writing - the moment of execution and the action itself - that is important.
The structure of the character may be compared with that of human body; its balance is architectural, arrived at through strict laws of construction. The composition of the characters all contribute to the mood and spirit of calligraphy.
A good instruction book on Oriental Calligraphy is: Ecke, Tseng Yu-ho, Chinese calligraphy, Boston, Philadelphia Museum of Art, 1971.

Two frogsA group of frogs were traveling through the woods .Suddenly，two of them fell into a deep pit . When they saw how deep the pit was , they told the two frogs that they were as good as dead . The two frogs ignored the comments and tried to jump up out of the pit with all their might . The other frogs kept telling them to stop, that they were as good as dead . Finally , one of the frogs took heed of that the other frogs were saying and gave up . He fell down and died . The other frog continued to jump as hard as he could . Once again , the crowd of frogs yelled at him to stop the pain and just die . He jumped even harder and finally made it out . When he got out , the other frogs said ,”Did you not hear us ?”The frog explained to them that he was deaf . He thought they were encouraging him the entire time .
This story teaches us ：
The life is not plain sailing .It’s full of frustrations and sinuations .But these are not very important .The most important is ”You should believe yourself ”. Even if it is a tiny belief .When you managed to cope with the difficulties. You will be happy to see that the sunshine is in front of you. Believe yourself ,your life will be more wonderful ;Believe yourself ,the new century is ours !
两只青蛙
一群青蛙在穿越树林时，突然其中两只失足落入一个深坑。大家看到这个坑的深度时就对这两只青蛙说，他们只有死路一条了。但是这两只青蛙全不理会同伴们的话，相反，他们使出全力以图跳出这个深坑。青蛙们仍不停的奉劝他们算了，并坚持说他俩只有死路一条。最后，其中一只青蛙听从了大家的劝告，放弃了。于是，他掉下去死了；而另一只青蛙还竭尽全力的跳着。众青蛙又一次向他大声提醒，奉劝他不要再自讨苦吃了，安息吧！谁知，他跳得更加卖力，终于他跳出来了！当他出来以后，大家问他：“你没听见我们的话吗？”这只青蛙解释说，他是个聋子，他还以为大家一直是在鼓励他呢！
这则故事告诉我们：
人生并不是一帆风顺的，它充满了坎坷和曲折。但是，这些并不重要，最重要的是你应该相信自己，哪怕只是一个小小的信念。当你走完荆棘路时，阳光就在你脚下。相信自己，你的生命会更精彩；相信自己，新的世纪属于我们！

No.1 A helping hand
A man who lived in a block of apartments thought it was raining and put his head out the window to check. As he did so a glass eye fell into his hand.
He looked up to see where it came from in time to see a young woman looking down.
"Is this yours?" he asked.
She said, "Yes, could you bring it up?" and the man agreed.
On arrival she was profuse in her thanks and offered the man a drink. As she was very attractive he agreed. Shortly afterwards she said, "I'm about to have dinner. There's plenty. Would you like to join me?"
He readily accepted her offer and both enjoyed a lovely meal. As the evening was drawing to a close the lady said, "I've had a marvelous evening. Would you like to stay the night?"
The man hesitated then said, "Do you act like this with every man you meet?"
"No," she replied, "Only those who catch my eye."
No.2 A Place to Sleep
By the time John pulled into the little town, every hotel room was taken. "You've got to have a room somewhere." he pleaded. "Or just a bed--I don't care where."
"Well, I do have a double room with one occupant," admitted the manager," and he might be glad to split the cost. But to tell you the truth, he snores so loudly that people in adjoining rooms have complained in the past. I'm not sure it'd be worth it to you."
"No problem," the tired traveler assured him. "I'll take it."
The next morning, John came down to breakfast bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. When asked about how he slept, he replied, "Never better."
The manager was impressed. "No problem with the other guy snoring, then?"
"Nope. I shut him up in no time."
"How'd you manage that?"
"He was already in bed, snoring away, when I came in the room," John said. "I went over, gave him a kiss on the cheek, said, 'Goodnight, beautiful.' With that he sat up all night watching me."

Youth
Youth is not a time of life, it is a state of mind ; it is not rosy cheeks , red lips and supple knees, it is a matter of the emotions : it is the freshness ; it is the freshness of the deep springs of life .
Youth means a temperamental predominance of courage over timidity of the appetite , for adventure over the love of ease. This often exists in a man of 60 more than a boy of 20 . Nobody grows old merely by a number of years . We grow old by deserting our ideals.
Years wrinkle the skin , but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul . Worry , fear , self –distrust bows the heart and turns the spirit back to dust .
Whether 60 of 16 , there is in every human being ‘s heart the lure of wonders, the unfailing childlike appetite of what’s next and the joy of the game of living . In the center of your heart and my heart there’s a wireless station : so long as it receives messages of beauty , hope ,cheer, courage and power from men and from the infinite, so long as you are young .
When the aerials are down , and your spirit is covered with snows of cynicism and the ice of pessimism, then you are grown old ,even at 20 , but as long as your aerials are up ,to catch waves of optimism , there is hope you may die young at 80.
