1 最早的“茶道”两字因茶的意境而来.意境承 载茶之精神效用

“茶道”两字,在爱茶人心中是值得敬仰的一片 天地。它先出自诗僧和茶僧美称的皎然之诗作《饮 茶歌诮崔石使君》。诗的开头是茶事的描写,接着的 “一饮涤昏寐,情思爽然满天地;再饮清我神,忽如飞 雨洒轻尘;三饮便得道,何须苦心破烦闷。”是茶事心 境的渲染,是茶事感受而来的非凡意境,“茶道”两字 在最后一句“孰知茶道全尔真,惟有丹丘得如此”中 推出。通读该诗篇,感受最深的是茶事的意境:先从 一饮之前的茶事情景铺开,尔后逐渐深入,直至妙不 可言,才有“道”与”茶道”,意境高远,也真可谓“道可 道,非常道”。皎然的另一首诗怍(《饮茶歌送郑容》) “丹五羽人轻玉石,采茶饮之生羽翼……霜天半夜芳 草折,烂漫缃花啜又生。赏君此茶祛我疾,使人胸中 荡忧栗。 日上香炉情未毕,醉踏虎云溪,高歌送君 出。”也有异曲同工之妙,并把茶的蕴意与友情连在 一起,诗的意境也让人联想到皎然与茶圣陆羽的关 系(可有相关的茶诗为证)。陆羽与皎然是忘年交,皎 然所提茶道,自然受陆羽的影响。陆羽也正是在湖 州与皎然结识,进一步积累学识,并终成博学之士, 并完成《茶经》的最后定稿(颜真卿也受影响,并著有 “流华净肌骨,疏瀹涤心源”的诗句)。
蕴含深厚民族思想和精华的茶文化,由历史沉 积而来,也与茶的意境相伴随,给人以潜移默化的积 极作用和影响。具体地说,是人们在经过茶事、茶文 化思想内涵的感受和体验后,受那由茶所带来的美 妙意境等影响而对人产生作用。深入茶事之奇妙境 界、体验茶的精神(如“精行俭德”般的内涵).并把它 与人的精神追求相结合,这是茶之道的精髓。我们把 这种影响,以虚幻的方式来表示,可称之为与茶相关 的意境,是茶道的基础或重要内容;皎然所提茶道的 影响,也与其中的意境深远分不开。

2 茶的意境是茶道的构架,为不同时代茶事的共性

自皎然提出“茶道”以来,已历经·—千多年。当 今的茶文化专家设想从当代的实践出发、以不同的 角度对历史上以高深著称茶道作”见仁见智”的认 识,有简有详,认识深刻;但茶文化初识者较难把握 (客观上还受日本茶道的不同实践与理沦的影响), 甚至有“茶道”一词内涵,不说还行。越说反而越模糊 的反映,这主要与茶事实践的程度与范围、研究者的 出发点、及价值取向有异所致,初学者难以觉察、认 识和把握,也就不足为奇。一般说来,茶道是人们受 茶事感受并进入较深意境而生发,茶道与茶的意境 密切相伴。相似的茶事,会因为个人(修养、兴趣和事 件背景等)的差异,产生不同程度的体验和感受,即 在茶的意境上有相似的认同感;如此,茶事常常可有 主题,引导人们参与其中。当然,要想从茶中得到深 刻的感悟和意界,还要求对茶与传统文化、乃至个人 的修养有较高的要求,皎然所提出的茶道正是如此, 也有人喻此为“天街小雨润如酥,草色遥看近却无” 的情景,而欧阳修提出的“真善幻”亦属此意。人们对 广泛推崇的“精行俭德”(茶道精神)的领会.尽管因 人而异(如在程度上),但仍是由茶事所承载可意会 而难于言传的意境之体验后,由茶而感发认识的进 步与修养的提高等。在当代,有人以杜甫的诗句“随 风潜入夜,润物细无声”,来比喻茶事的美妙意境、以 及人文“观照”,也是通及茶道后的感应。与茶道精神相关的意境,自然不会偏离茶道。
由于社会的发展,茶道的形式、手段、社会环境 和对象等都会产生相应的变化,皎然所“指定”的茶 道深意,现代人即使能“打造”,能体会到诸如”人与 大自然之间,人与历史之间的对话”的虚幻缥缈意境 的,也不在多数。但茶的发展历程和文化史实已证 明:已经历数千年的茶事。人们想通过茶事来获得心 灵效应或人文观照,有必要刘茶道作与时俱进的认 识。即重要的是引导人们去感觉和体验茶能给人带 来的愉快和精神上的感悟,如人们通过茶而进入自 感美妙的、或意想中的理想意境及体会,并受其潜移 默化的影响,而不应该过多地讲究、追求形式。这就 是本文强调的,与茶道相联系的茶的意境,它能体现 茶道精神,顺应当代茶事的时代要求。如现代人喜欢 茶的香、茶水的清、茶烟的萦绕,人们因此会在茶中 停留,会有意无意地感受到茶的意境;在此基础上如 能引导有意识的茶事实践,寻找并获得感悟,就是我 们常说的由茶事而带来的精神欢愉。茶的意境.是不 同时代茶事的共同点。

3 在茶事体验中寻求意境,感悟人生的真谛顺应时代的进步

在茶事体验中寻求意境,代替具体的茶道程式, 从中获得感悟或精神的“纯化”等,是人们把茶道局 限在深层次或程式化的认识所作的修正。时代的发 展、生活节奏的加快,小桥流水的场景已退缩至公园 或家庭—‘角;人们为赶上经济大潮适应紧张的了作 节奏,即使留恋,也只能把诸如对传统文化等恪守深 刻于内心,换之以“浅然”来对待周围的人与事,花花 绿绿的消遣和娱乐也应运而生。显然,历史上文人雅 士式的品茶,会使年轻人感到气氛颇为严肃。它代表 的是延袭—种精深的、有五千年的文化传统和历史 沉积。人们对品茶已是小心翼翼,何况是高深或神秘 的茶道。好在历史的、文化的原因,是中国人就会喝 茶,人们喜欢茶的“可口、可乐”,由此而能带来的意 境,自然不会拒绝,毕竟,茶香在口,通过认识与引 导,还有助于为生活的诗化增光添彩,何乐而不为 呢!已被人们广泛接受的当代茶艺,也可理解为在茶 的“可口、可乐”的基础上,引导茶的意境与茶道相 通,展示“真、善、美”的内涵。
现代茶科学的发展,难以对历史上文人墨客或 得道高人专利式茶道的解释,但倒是有利于作“意 境”式的诠释。茶之感人是通过茶的色香味形的充分 发挥而绐人带来舒适的感受,而现代的科学技术可 以通过了解茶的自然科学性,如学习茶的自然品质 特性——茶理.来体会茶给人带来的妙趣,像如人希 望般的品性和情境——“茶是独一无二的真正的文 明饮料,是礼貌和精神的化身”(韩素音)。皎然所提 “茶道”诗句中的“全尔真”,可从两方面加以理解。一 是茶为真正健康文明的饮料。茶的自然科学性表明: 茶无愧于是21世纪的理想饮料,茶有助于养性、静 心。在健身方而有如中医般的功效和调理机能。二是 茶与“人的自然天性”相联系,也即人性中近于“道” 的本质(有“茶道即人道”的说法)。有人换了一种角 度说:当人们为诸如人性本善或本恶争吵不休,茶性 及与此相伴的意境却给人以启示:喝茶时人们所体 现的最初的一面却是最为“自然”的。
茶的意境,即与茶相伴而来的、给人以清新、淡雅、闲适、悠然,亲切而自然;因此,茶才不同于一般 口腹物欲。饮茶可以是一种习惯,给人以助思考、添情趣.如有人称举杯饮茶之“举”,理解为一种期待, 颇为形象;又如某文人所说:“茶之为物,能引导我们进入一个默想的人生世界。”这是由茶中的意境所引 导,让人们从茶的感觉中放松“心灵”,让人更睿智地领会世界上的人与事,或感受“心原本是一壶茶,包 容百味,因吐纳而常新。”这似乎又把茶的意境与“即茶即道”相联系了。

4 茶的意境的启示,俗及日常生活、深通传统文化精义,与茶道相通
